Donald Trumps TV attack ads spending

I did not notice anything about attack ads in the article, just ad spending.

Latest numbers have Hillary outspending him 50:1, yet the race is a virtual tie.

He may be proving that campaigning via broadcast ads is a thing of the past
(much to the detriment of broadcasters).

Much to the detriment of the public. If getting candidates like this is what the system creates, then it's time to re-evaluate the system.

Yeah. That's one reevaluation that is long overdue. This election is akin to having a bottle of ammonia in one hand, and rat poison in the other. You're being given the choice to swallow one of them, knowing full well you're pretty well screwed no matter which hand you choose.

Also in the case of Trump, he has talk show hosts on Cable and Political talk radio campaigning for him through their shows this could be one reason TV stations owners like Sinclair, Media General, Tenga, Hearst, Raycom, Tribune, Scripps and the Network O&O TV stations are all reporting lower ad revenue. So far here in California the Network O&O's in San Francisco and the TV affiliates in Sacramento are getting ads from superpacs to air attack ads of state propositions, state political seats and municipal government seats and propositions.

I don't know if this is true for the rest of the country though. I understand that presidential ads or presidential superpac ads are mainly something that TV stations in battleground states must air between news segments though.

But then again its a demographics issue between Trump and Clinton. Clinton has to air campaign ads and the superpacs because Apparently her audiences don't watch Cable talk and Talk radio like the Trump Supporters do?

Do battleground states air their political ads including presidential between local news segments and or between NFL Plays or Baseball plays? I know in the case of California where we do have political ads but mainly about state laws and politicians and Municipal Laws and Politicians air between NFL plays, MLB plays and between newscasts thats the case.

I have family in New Hampshire, which is very much in play this year, and the Clinton ads were on during just about all programming, really saturating the newscasts, when I was there a couple of weeks ago. The one that was running most featured children watching wide-eyed as Trump, on TV in front of them, mocks a disabled man, boasts about being able to shoot someone and not lose votes, and describes where Megyn Kelly bleeds from. No ads from The Donald himself, but as others have said, he has plenty of surrogates on cable TV and radio to get his views out there -- not to mention the coverage he gets on the network newscasts.

Trump has gotten millions in free media going back to the early primary months; and it didn't come from cable talk shows, it came from the Big 3 (especially NBC). Trump was great for numbers, clicks and ad revenue. Contrary to what its detractors think, the cable news networks draw a very small audience. You need to motivate that voter watching the local news and entertainment programming. That apathetic guy who went to a Bernie rally once but is "meh" on Hillary. The political junkies are going to vote. You advertise to everybody else.

I think I got thrown off by the emphasis of how political apps/websites, are running the election and things to that nature I didn't even realize that the general public are still swayed by watching local news and are persuaded to vote to candidate or ballot initiative in ads that take place between news segments. Its because of recent data where Local Radio station owner groups and TV owner groups say low revenue because of Trump I looked for factors like demos and venue and the Free publicity part I knew was there too but did not consider how much of a factor it had on tv stations revenue.

It does appear that Trump has outsmarted the media at their own game here.
It is worth analyzing, particularly in a business where revenue from political advertising
makes up a huge part of the bottom line.

On the other hand, he doesn't seem to understand how political advertising works. He seemed confused about it during the debate. He complained about all of Hillary's ads, that she's spending millions of dollars, then he said, "Maybe I'm trying to save money." He's a first time candidate, never run for anything, and he may not know that you can buy ads and say whatever you want.

But wait Trump is more accustomed to calling in political talk shows (cable and radio ) and attacking the DNC from the talk show with the interview listening in on the live rant. But then again this comes down to who the Trump Demos are and who the the Clinton Demos and what they watch or read for news and politics.

I'm trying to stay focused on the historical impact of Trump's campaign, particularly upon how future campaigns are run.
Mr. Berry has asked us to steer clear of political debates in this forum.
