I don't know if WBFO was airing blues music, panhandling, or Mike Desmond snoring, but the new WBEN promo says that they were the only Buffalo News Station providing coverage of the bombings on Saturday evening. I heard everything as it was unfolding thanks to Buffalo's News Station.

Let me make this clear: WBEN will NEVER be MY news station. If I want news, I'll go to WBFO....680News in Toronto....or the CBC.

WBEN's legacy is too far gone in my eyes.

You can go to WBFO but as the original post states, the news wasn't anywhere to be found. You could go their for blues, or snooze, but not news.

Stay on NewsRadio 930AM WBEN or NewsRadio WHAM! 1180 for real news.

With a side of the type of talk THEY do?

No. Thanks.

There's a reason WBFO(and, by extension, WXXI-AM)do decently in ratings. It's because stations like those have gone so far down the rabbit hole that they're no longer relevant to anyone who isn't in the "55 to death" demo. And that, sooner or later, will be their downfall. WBEN tried simulcasting on FM, but that ended after about a year-plus because it wasn't doing squat for them ratings-wise.
