Who should replace John Dennis

Now that we're a few weeks into the reign of "Kirk & Callahan," who is the front runner to replace John Dennis?

They've cycled through a few candidates, including Gary Tanguay, Glen Ordway, Mike Mutnansky, Pete Shepard, and a number of wild cards, including "celebrity callers."

So who should it be?

Tanguay is an idiot blowhard and Ordway wouldn't fit well because he sucks up too much oxygen. Shepard is too slow to keep up with Kirk. Mutnansky seems the best fit. Not too big of a personality, but bright enough to add something.

I'm leaning Tanguay. I know that he's a contrarian curmudgeon, but he's got the strength of personality to dominate the proceedings like Dennis.

I thought it was now "Kirk and Callahan" permanently (or as permanent as it gets in radio) with Kirk's old position up for grabs.

ESPN NH tweeting that today is the last afternoon drive shift for Pete the Meat Sheppard (yes it only just started) as he's "heading back to WEEI".

It appears Sheppard will be mostly weekends on 'EEI with weekday fill-ins. Makes me think Tanguay might have the inside track on the morning show.

Since Dennis left it seems that the show spends more time talking about the show itself than on any interesting topics. I really don't care to listen to endless hours devoted to who Minihane doesn't get along with and why.

I have the exact same impression. The show has been about stroking Minihane's ego. Just let him rant, call people jerks (or some version thereof), that's your show. How Kirk rose to such prominence will always confound me.
