Christmas Music

Which station will be the first to play Christmas music.

The first and only station will be Magic. (like last year...)
For full market coverage stations, that is correct, but WPLM will probably flip on 12/13 as they have for as long as I can remember.

Plus there is always a rim shot/ metro west covering Worcester station that will jump into the game.

But the days of CBS flipping a station to compete with Greater Media are gone.

Both WSRS and WPLM have near-full market coverage, and I'm almost positive WSRS will flip prior to WMJX, and at least 30 days prior to 99.1. Rhode Island will have 105.1 (along with SE Mass, but I think they'll listen more to 99.1 (unless, of course, you're in a place like Seekonk or Fall River), and NH will have WHOM for the most part, as WZID tends to lay off on Christmas Music. Do any stations on Cape Cod flip? I've seen Cool 102 flip, Frank FM flip, and I'm positive that Ocean 104.7 flipped at least once. The problem on Cape is that there is no "real ACs" but yet there are 2 Hot ACs, a singer-songwriter based AC, a variety hits station, a classic hits station and a station from the so-called "Gateway to the Cape" that has local-like (or at least reasonable) coverage from 128 to 295 to Nantucket. I'm betting that WSRS will be the Bay State's first all-Christmas station.

You might make a case for WSRS having a good signal...while it's strength is not over where the Boston metro populous is.

But you'd be hard pressed to call this "near full-market coverage".

Believe it or not, WPLM comes in pretty good into Southern NH along RT 93, especially in the fall and winter....

I am not far from Exit 3 and they come in loud and clear.... which is nice because I can listen to the lovely and talented Audrey Constant
