KDUS off the air?

Haven't heard them for a couple days. What's going on?

Reduced power maybe? They are still streaming, nothing on their website or Twitter feed mentioning being off the AM radio (or HD2)

The old K UUUUUUUU PD studio building has been sold, and Mother Hubbard is moving the 10~Sixty xmttr slightly to the north of the building. The sticks remain along side I-10. Plus they'll be diplexing KIHR 13~Ten from the same towers. A lot of RF that can bite ya in the butt, or affect your own stick!

It's either that, or they're teasing us for an early run of All Ho-Ho-Ho Music from Guadalupe!

If an AM station shuts down, and no one is around to hear it?...

Seriously, is there any programming worth listening to on 1060 (or 100.7 HD2)?

KDUS is the only valley sports station that is Kool Aid-free. Sure beats the blatant, excessive homerism on 98.7.

Stay Silent

Personally I have been enjoying listening to KNX 1070 during my morning commute static free. I would be fine with me if 1060 stayed silent.

So 910 is a homer station now too? Between the mediocre NBC content and the amateur hour pay-for-play in the afternoon, I'd rather listen to the homers (or, at least, 101.5 HD2).

I forgot about KGME. I don't listen to them except for games on WW1. They're inaudible at night here in far-NE Mesa unless I break out my Grundig Satellit 750. And even then, I have to take the radio outside my stucco/chicken wire-encrusted house to hear them at all.

As far as KDUS goes, Bob Kemp is still the best sports-talker in the valley, bar none. I think he's the only on-air guy they have on salary. Everyone else is network or brokered. And their booming 500 watt signal at night is so bad out here that KNX wipes them out more often than not.
