For next week only from 3pm-7pm, the Tom Bauerle Show will be replaced with Tom Bauerle AND David Bellavia. They will be co-hosting together.

I wonder if this will be permanent or if a new show is in the works...or maybe syndicated.

Syndication. Almost certainly.

I like David Bellavia, even though he can't pronounce "Nuclear". I can't listen to him for very long though because he has this habit of swallowing and smacking his lips mid-sentence, which gets annoying after a while.

I do wish him well and hope he has a successful career in radio or whatever path he takes. Hopefully his movie will be a big hit and it will set him up for life.

Bellavia is being compromised by Bauerle's presence. Bauerle gives off a very different vibe---one of arrogance, unrelatability and wingnut. Bellavia, on his own, is much more relatable and easygoing, not to mention humorous. Bellavia clearly defers to bauerle, which only hurts Bellavia.

As far as speech issues of Bellavia: Yeah, and he tends to get into the Sylvester the cat "Sufferin' sucketash" thing at times when words end with an "s".

Listened for a bit today (about their conspiracy theory surrounding Justice Scalia's death). It was more Tom than David during the time I listened especially with the callers. Sounded to me like Bellavia was forced onto Bauerle and the two have to figure out how to dance in time.

Bellavia might work better if he was given regular coaching. He occasionally has good content, he certainly has real world experience, but he lacks the smoothness and radio dexterity of Bauerle and Beach, such as it may be. "Nobody puts Baby in the corner."

WBEN has teamed up Beavis & Butthead.
Entercom is using the Trump Scorched Earth approach.
Raise absurd conspiracy theories for their lunatic base.
And they wonder why this failed on FM...

Wow, really? I think your train of thought left the tracks before it got out of the station. Besides, who cares? They're still printing money on Corporate Parkway.

One wonders what Entercom is prepping/hyping Bellavia for. Sandy's past retirement age. Bauerle is closing in on it, and has a history of instability. Are they hoping that he could replace one of the members of the "B Team", and perhaps try to nudge the demos into a slightly lower age bracket?

I don't see them paying him to team with Bauerle unless there's a game plan for the future at work here.

My first impression of this, which I am almost certain is correct, is a test-week for syndication within the company, with the intention of branching out.

A little late in the game but better late than never I guess.

Personally, I find Bauerle's staccato delivery very hard to listen to. And then there's the content....lol. Lots of paranoid over the top ramblings coupled with occasional ghost story shows.

Bellavia's still a newbie but he's far easier to take than TB.

AFAIK, Entercom doesn't originate any syndicated shows in any format. If they did, why would a station in any market carry a syndicated talk show from Buffalo? It would have to be very unique. These two are doing the same thing as everyone else.

Wrongo, bud. They have a handful of shows, including "Beyond Reality Radio" which airs on...wait for it...WBEN.

Would they have a syndicated program from 3-7? I don't think so but maybe. People wouldn't want the program to change and everyone knows they talk about local things during that time especially related to traffic or weather.

I think Bauerle will be syndicated at another time and Bellavia will take over the 3-7.

Is he so desperate to be syndicated that he'd give up afternoon drive for 7PM to midnight? Because that's the ONLY way I see Entercom stations carrying him: in place of existing syndication. Right now, WRKO Boston runs the syndicated Dave Ramsey at that time. Unless they're contemplating giving up Rush.

WBEN hosts have NO leverage.

Who says they're supposed to have leverage? There's only one country station in Buffalo too. Where does a country DJ go if he loses his gig? Another format or another market. That's what usually happens. Lots of former Buffalo talent have done it, often to their advantage. The idea of spending one's entire career in the same market isn't typical or guaranteed.

As for Rush, he should be used to this by now. Even at iHeart-owned stations, he's been getting moved from stronger to weaker signals all over the country. It could happen in Buffalo. But realistically, if Bauerle is going to be syndicated beyond Buffalo, it won't be in the daytime. He'll be on a lot of stations at a time when no one is listening.

Bauerle is ego run amok. He's the "big fish in a small pond".
Buffalo has a long history of those self absorbed radio people.
They've never worked in bigger markets (or very briefly).

The only one talking about syndication for Bauerle is Bauerle.
Anybody checked the condition of AM Talk radio lately.???
