WGBH Channel 2 Antennae Affected By Storm ?

Anyone know if WGBH TV Channel 2's antennae was affected by Friday's storm as was WBZ TV 4?
Just purchased a new over the air TV and it downloads all the station signals but WGBH TV Channel 2.
Before I return the set to Best Buy can anyone tell me if the reason I cannot download WGBH TV Channel 2 is because its over the air signal is still down ?

Thanks,

Thanks,

It should all be back to normal now. WBZ, WSBK, and WGBX were off the air until mid-day today, and WCVB was running at reduced power. They were affected by the storm. WGBH was on and off for safety while the repair work proceeded.

Thank you. Will see if I can download Ch. 2 tomorrow.

Here is the scope.
There is the single tower and at least two antennae on it.
On the upper section of the master antenna houses WBZ, WCVB, WSBK and WGBX; down below houses WGBH. A second, lower antenna is WCVBʼs auxiliary stick.
When the upper section of the master crapped the bed, WCVB switched to their lower/weaker antenna.
Right now the master antennaʼs upper section is still dead in the water.
Like an identical occurrence back in April 2012, what has been done until actual repairs are made, is that WBZ, WSBK and WGBX have moved down to WGBHʼs lower spot on the master, with WCVB joining the pack.
However, since WCVBʼs actual RF channel (20) is adjacent to WGBHʼs (19)—which is an engineering, coexistence no-no—WGBH is voluntarily being bumped over to WCVBʼs lower/weaker auxiliary antenna.
So, the result is WBZ, WCVB, WSBK and WGBX appear back to normal (they really arenʼt), while WGBH is at reduced, auxiliary signal strength.
If it is like last time, this arrangement may last for months! ;)

Actually, WGBH has a good status update page

The two temporary antennas are due at the Needham transmission site today and preparation work is underway for their installation.

Over the next several days, working at a height of 1,000 feet, crews will be mounting special rigging, lines, and running tests on the equipment so they can hoist and mount the temporary antennas and connect them to the transmitters.

At various stages of the work it will be necessary to temporarily shut down power to some or all of the stations. For viewers currently able to receive our broadcast services, these outages will result in a temporary loss of signal. We will use Facebook and Twitter to alert our audience when they can expect those outages to occur.

Once the antennas are installed, WGBH (including Ch. 2 and World Channel) will be moved first and returned to near full power, though at a slightly reduced tower height. This should improve reception for some viewers who are currently unable to receive WGBH 2 or World Channel.

WGBX (Ch. 44, Create, and Kids) and the other network stations will then be moved together to the second temporary antenna, but at a reduced power, which will allow crews to complete the repairs to the main antennas that were damaged on October 22. Some viewers may experience reception problems while WGBX is at reduced power on the temporary antenna.

We hope to have the temporary antennas installed and running by the end of the week, but weather will be an important factor in the progress of the work. And while we don’t currently have an estimated timeline for the full repairs, we’ll continue to update this page as new information becomes available.
