Sweet home, Chicago - for MOViN's Brooke & Jubal

They start on "The New She 100.3" Nov. 14. Coincidentally, the Chicago station is owned by...wait for it...Hubbard.

Still, a top 3 clearance is pretty darn impressive. Guess syndication is working out for this duo!

Yeah. I have a feeling though that this station will also be the first to drop the show. AC isn't usually a format for that type of show.

Would you have David Lee voice a CHR? Didn't think so. Then again, I would have never had the guy they've got on 98.9 now voice that thing in the first place. The guy sounded fine on Click, but not on a rock station.

I have a feeling they chose this show to pick up the tempo at this station. It's ratings have been less than stellar with local talent. So bringing in a more up-beat morning show, and maybe tweak the music towards more Hot AC, and that may be enough to fix the sagging ratings.

You lost me there, I have no idea what the correlation is between Rock 98.9's voiceover talent and Brooke & Jubal's show being on in Chicago.

Radio desperately needs fresh ideas and thinking, and to reflexively say it won't work because the station is "AC" is a great way to live in the past.

Far from a slam dunk, but at least Hubbard is trying.

I can understand a Top 40 morning show in Seattle being simulcast on a Hot AC station in Portland. But aren't they a bit too wordy and uptempo for WSHE, Chicago's only AC station? I suppose WSHE can substitute its own music but won't the humor be aimed younger than the target audience of the station?

Also, when do B&J begin their broadcast? Is it 5am Pacific Time or 6am? How can they be on the air in Chicago at 6am, two hours ahead of Pacific Time? Unless Chicago listeners are really getting yesterday's show, giving WSHE time to substitute AC music in place of Top 40 hits? But if they want to talk about last night's Grammy Awards or last night's Super Bowl, how will that work?

They're not Chicago's only AC station. But both of them are tied for #16 in the market. That's not something you want to retain. It's something you want to blow up. That's what they're doing.

CBS just blew up their country station after the competition ate their lunch. Same thing here.

Tracked, Gregg. And if there's a breaking event all they have to do is come in a little early. An advantage of being based on the left coast.
