KSSE changing?

now that ksse fm has flipped and notice mega 963 adding songs from 107.1 already

That seems odd, as KSSE was down around or below a 1 share in 18-49 and Mega was getting up in the 2's.

Just a question...seems like the new format on 107.1 is relatively similar to the Jose format broadcasting on 97.5/103.1. Although it seems like Jose is a bit more heavy on talk. Thoughts?

There is almost no overlap in the music between the two stations. A few artist overlaps, but with different songs. The Suavecita music is much more recent, as well.

José is mostly talk (1 to 2 songs an hour in mornings and a couple per hour in afternoons) and has a talk show about soccer at 6 PM and a nutrition and good living segment at noon. So yes, it is almost a talk station.

Didn't the imaging on Jose loosely translate to "he plays what he wants?"

Which apparently now means he plays what he wants when he feels like not talking. ;)

That is the national José imaging, mostly used in the markets outside LA that are more pure music plays.

It is, as you suggest, not really relevant for the LA station trombo.

Nothing says "sales friendly" programming quite like soccer and nutrition/good living segments during PM drive and middays.

The hard launch is in early January. I suppose / guess that this means that they will bring back the morning show, add DJs and do some promotion. This looks like a more-music fill during the useless 5-week Holiday book.

yeah....would have done a christmas stunt or something in that route

Christmas is a poor time for stunts, as people are distracted by seasonal things in their lives. And since most people don't manually tune across the dial, stunting itself has very limited impact.

They could have gone commercial free all month, but they obviously did not want to loose all the revenue.
