92.5 The Bull

Station Sep 16 Oct 16 Nov 16 Dec 16 Format Owner
KNCI-FM 5.8 5.1 5.6 5.5 Country CBS Radio
KBEB-FM 3.2 3.8 2.8 2.1 Country iHeartMedia
KNTY-FM 2.1 2.3 2.3 1.9 Country Entravision

They are pretty close with 101.9, way behind 105.1. I know 12+ numbers are worthless and all but would assume KBEB's billing is ok. I mean, entering the market with the 3rd country format you can't expect much more than a small slice of the pie, right? Especially with KNCI's heritage.

I guess they figured they needed a name that screamed country....no format other than country could have a name like "the Bull". it only speaks to the life group. As a non-country fan myself, the name makes me cringe.

Big D, interesting, I honestly hadn't looked. But like you mentioned --> yeah, yeah, there 12+! :)

Regardless, I'm interested what the numbers look like in the key demos.

If a Wolf and a Bear get into it, who wins the fight? :)

The first time I heard this brand in another market I thought it was a bit odd. It's bold, that's for sure. I guess "B92.5" was too bland for iHeart and they wanted something edgier given all their competition.

Well of course the Wolf going to win Stewie

But. Does 3 Country Station really work in Sacramento?

San Francisco done that and failed

One is iHeart, one CBS, and one Entravision. As you say, key demos are what matter. But billing matters even more. I suspect all three companies need to sell the Country format, and until something better comes along that's what we'll hear. I hadn't looked at ownership 'till now, and for some reason I thought The Wolf was Entercom. But no. It seems a bit odd for Entravision to do something that's not Spanish. But hey - I guess it works.
