3:30PM newscast on KOMO starting Mon 1/30

First time ever in Seattle TV history that a local station has aired news this early in the evening. KOMO's 4PM newscast has been on since around 2005. Morgan Chesky and Molly Shen to anchor per KOMO's Facebook page. Seattle Refined cuts down to one episode a day (was two) while Harry Connick Jr's show is flipped to 2PM. Wonder if other stations will follow suit within the next year or two. I know Los Angeles has one or two 3PM newscasts.

L.A. has two... KTLA and KABC.

Seattle, in my memory, has never had a newscast before 4pm. (excluding 11am, and noon, obviously). KOMO did run a 3pm show in the 80's into the 2K called "Northwest Afternoon", but it was more talk than news. Known for its soap opera updates.

Northwest Afternoon was practically a talk show. Had many famous guests, including four U.S. Presidents and former Presidents. Cindi Rinehart always did the soap recaps 5 days a week and took loads of phone calls from soap fans. Wonder where she went to.
