Possible sybdication for Baurerle & Bellavia

The new show Bauerle & Bellavia is taking off, and today's show was about why people are listening to it now more than ever. With all the fake news out there, the general consensus is you could turn on Bauerle and Bellavia and get the truth, and as a result, people are now listening to the FULL four hours of the program. During the show, Bauerle also indicated that he has received four offers for syndication.

The bad news is if it becomes syndicated, they will have to change what they talk about. They can't talk about local Buffalo things any more. They can't talk about things that make what they do unique to Buffalo, and they just become another national show talking about things that aren't really important to people in Buffalo. The other bad thing is the world really isn't clamoring for more national talk. The real focus now is on local talk. That's what makes WBEN so successful. That's what makes it so profitable.

Turning the local show into a national show takes half of the commercials out of the hands of the local salesmen. Who thinks that's a good idea?

I would assume they would need to keep a local show in that time slot, and move into an already syndicated slot. Unless he received offers from WJJL, WUFO, WLVL, and other local stations.

I agree, and I said they should do another local talk show either 7-10 or 10-1 like they tried before.

Lemme see if I get this right: the show debuted on October 28, and was only on the air for 4 1/2 weeks of the Fall book, and you know that the show is "taking off" and "listening now more than ever".

And they idea that anyone would make a syndication offer for a show that does not have at least several books under its belt is somewhere between silly and ludicrous.

Start date: 10/31/16 per station itself. http://www.wben.com/David-Bellavia-to-Co-Host-with-Tom-Bauerle-on-WBEN/22919955

Start date of fall book: September 8. End date: November 30.

See if you could get this right. The show has, for all intents and purposes, been going on for a couple years in that time slot, with one of the two of the hosts. And if Bauerle wasn't there, Bellavia usually filled in.

That show has to be, without a doubt, the most listened to on WBEN, which is why they moved it to that time and extended it from 3 to 4 hours.

One can't ignore the number of contacts that Bellavia has at the national level that he has brought in for interviews, either.

None of those stations come anywhere near the ratings he gets on WBEN. Why would he do that? Night time doesn't deliver the audience he has now. Why would he do that?

Those people do interviews with every local talk show host on every radio station in the country. There's nothing really unique here, except for the people who live in Buffalo. Take the Buffalo part out, and there's nothing unique any more.

It's not the same show as before; 50% of it changed. One person vs. two.

AQH persons.

6-10 AM 15,800.
10-3 PM 16,900.
3-7 PM 13,800

Fall book.

As BigA says, those are the same contact a few hundred other talk hosts have.

And contacts with guests are not the same as contacts that will get a show syndicated.

Not a lot of new conservative syndie shows for a reason.

There is total saturation at this point.

You've got to remember that his source for "news" is Bauerle and Bellavia. That should clue you in as to the veracity of his sources.

The new show is quite possibly the best thing to ever happen to Buffalo. Everyone on this board can speak in platitudes, but I experience the magic everyday, from sales and programming standpoint. This show has reinvented the radio industry, and advertisers and listeners just can't get enough. Sales are thru the roof, and my phone literally blows up everyday with listeners who cannot stop listening. For even more, they are now listening to the show twice thru the podcasts. The second I talk to a local business, they immediately want to get their ads on the show asap. God bless both Tom and David for giving people a reason to want to want to drive home.

For giving SOME people a reason to want to drive home, you mean.

I'm not one of them and I NEVER will be. I gave WBEN the boot from my car presets a LONG time ago. If I want news, I'll get it from WBFO...the CBC...or even Toronto's 680 News. It'll be a long time before I use WBEN as my go-to for news.

CNN NBC MSNBC are fake news, and we found out yesterday so is the AP. I'll stick with real news thank you.

As listeners, WE experience the magic every weekday as well. All of their listeners in Buffalo, Rochester, Toronto, Erie, and everywhere across the country online, should be on their knees thanking these two for providing such an excellent program. They are truly making radio great again. I'm even thinking of starting my work day at 6:30 am so I can be in my car by 3 to not miss even a minute of the program.

That is what I am talking about. The response is incredible.

You have redefined hyperbole. You can have a happy little tea party with dand playing the part of the piñata.

Try to be realistic: 7 out of every 8 listeners in Buffalo don't listen even once a week.
