Today Show Changes

Tamron and Kelly won't work. They will fight over who is the biggest star.

Tamron and Kelly won't work. They will fight over who is the biggest star.

THe Problem I seen in the NY Post of this alleged meeting here is that the article said something about Tamron Hall being with a Discovery media executive. There's no proof for now that Disney had Tamron sign the contracts to co-host with Kelly Ripa.

Ann Curry had many years on the Today show as the news reader and a fan base. Tamron Hall has both less time on the show (a LOT less time) and a far smaller fan base. I think she just saw that there was no upward mobility for her at NBC anytime soon.

She may well end up at CNN.
Don't forget there's also CBS News, CBS-N & ABC News too

As for MSNBC becoming the next Fox News, well.....NBC/MSNBC may be stealing talent from Fox News but it'll dtill be a politically left-wing version of Fox News

Cheers :)

New Leader for NBC News and its Noah Oppenheim for NBC News President and Deborah Turness for the international division for NBC News

Oppenheim will continue to lead the “Today” show, according to Lack’s memo but “take on oversight of all NBC News operations,” partnering with MSNBC’s boss Phil Griffin.

“I know you share my enthusiasm in congratulating Noah. He began his career here with ‘Hardball’ and then ‘Today.’ Since returning home to NBC News two years ago for his second tour of duty, Noah has done a fantastic job leading the ‘Today’ franchise. He has honed the broadcast, and audiences have rewarded us for it. ‘Today’ is back in first place and more powerful than ever,” Lack wrote.

The incoming president of NBC News is also the screenwriter for “Jackie,” the film starring Natalie Portman as Jackie Kennedy.

“I’ve been obsessed and fascinated with her since was a little kid,” Oppenheim told TheWrap founder Sharon Waxman last year.

Turness, who joined NBC News three and a half years ago, is credited by Lack for all four NBC News broadcasts finishing No. 1 among the key news demo of adults age 25-54 in 2016, something the network had not accomplished since 2011.

And now this comes out

NBC begged Savannah Guthrie to come back to the Today earlier then planned, because they were panicking.

At least that is what Page Six is reporting.

The gossip page says that Guthrie cut her maternity leave short by four days, and sources say it’s because brass at “Today” were stressing over ratings.

“The show was in a free fall. She initially announced that she’d be returning on March 3, but they were in a panic . . . and called her back early,” an industry insider told Page Six.

Guthrie surprised Matt Lauer on-air last week, days after Lester Holt and Bryant Gumbel filled in as co-hosts.

“Their bro-show didn’t work. They needed Savannah to bail them out, so they rushed her from maternity leave. NBC claimed it was because of the influx of news, but the reality is that the show was down double-digits and they needed her,” the source said.

Guthrie’s return did not produce the numbers to keep competition at bay.

On Tuesday, ABC sent out a press release crowing, “ ‘Good Morning America’ delivers largest total viewer lead over ‘Today’ in 14 months.”

An NBC source was quick to point out that ABC’s win was thanks to the Oscars. “GMA has been down double-digits in the key demo [ages 25 to 54] for months while ‘Today’ has been posting gains. Last week, ABC had the Oscars broadcast, which historically gives ‘GMA’ a huge boost.”

A “Today” rep added it’s “been No. 1 in the key demo for 20 straight months, its best winning streak in more than four years, and its advantages over ‘GMA’ have reached five-year highs.”

Al Roker and Tamron Hall canned from 9:00 hour show to make way for Megan (I'm a Star) Kelly! I have heard she (Kelly) is one of the most difficult on-air types to work with. Has anyone else heard the same?

She sniped a lot at her coworkers, men and women alike. She never really belonged in prime time in the first place. With so many people cutting the television cord it is no wonder that she had to take so much less than what she thought she was worth from Comcast/NBC Universal.

Damn The first time I heard of this was because President Trump (Then 2016 RNC primary candidate) was after (Then Fox News talk host) Megyn Kelly in a rant and in the RNC primaries debate.

A side note here its crazy to think a year later you have Mike Jerrick from the Fox O&O division did a rant directed at now President Trump and his cabinet, Got suspended and now reveal to Philadelphia audiences that Jerrick has a mental breakdown and he used parts of Megyn Kelly's old Fox Playbook to go after the President

And now you have Shepard Smith get accused of using Megyn Kelly's old Fox Playbook too because he directed his rants on President Trump and his cabinet too. (Note these are all side notes here)

I am guessing from the number of frantic links that the second quote was one you posted earlier somewhere and decided to include as part of your post? She was that way long before the campaign.

The second quote was more of a side note though from a different thread about Mike Jerrick from Fox O&O and Shepard Smith of Fox News at Megyn Kelly's old workplace. They used the same playbook Kelly used to go after the president in recent months though.
