so I was listening to WVLK yesterday when I heard an interesting bumper claiming they had "more local hosts than any other lexington station"... Tht is quite the claim, one that I am sure was true at one point, but now that WLXU and WLXL exist, I don't think it is true any more...

Tell them about it. I do wish 93.9 would come in a little better. I can still hear WSEK out of Somerset trying to come in. It was pretty clear here in Lexington before 93.9 ever came on the air. My radio is sensitive.

They should try for 94.1. Nobody is on that around here except for Cincinnati.

Yeah, that may be true among the COMMERCIAL stations in town, but I don't think the same is true when you factor in the non-comms too.

I actually miss being able to hear WSEK clearly in Lex. The translator on 93.9 here in town would be better suited on a true BLANK frequency in town and would probably be able to cover a larger area. And yeah I know these days there isn't really a true blank frequency anywhere in a metro area like this that is this close to neighboring metros, but there are better frequencies than 93.9 for them to move to.

so I told them 'You know if you have to add so many * to the end of your statement, maybe you should reevaluate your initial statement."

WRFL has live on air folks 24 hours 7 days a week.
Live DJ's are new every 2-3 hours, many are students and many are volunteer. Some are UK media staff some are WRFL alum from over the years.
