WFAI 1510 am

What's up with this station? Heard it on air and it sounds like they forgot about it... Will Delmarva Broadcasting flip it? Maybe a simulcast with WYUS? Or maybe they are waiting to get a translator to make some changes?

94 views and not even one answer? C'mon guys I know you're there.

I'm guessing that nobody knows or even cares.

This is a stations whose usable coverage is less than 25,000 persons. It does not even get to Pennsville with a 5 mV/m signal. So one of the likely possibilities is that it will be sold unless it can get a translator under the AM Improvement initiative.

That explains a lot, plus it's a daytimer, plus the pattern throws most of the signal to the water so the fish can pray.

That's my guess, a translator or bye bye.

If the station's making money, or at the least breaking even, right now why mess with it? It's a high dial daytimer that probably had to be bought with the FM.

LIFT FM contacted the previous owner but it wasn't available at the time. It could be the same situation now.

Just out of curiosity, why would the AM have to be bought with the FM? Is that an FCC regulation? josh

The owner of Faith 1510, the AM station should contact LIFT FM. LIFT FM is a Christian Format station. Faith 1510 would be a great fit for LIFT FM. It could be a marriage made in heaven! The phone number for LIFT FM is (856) 497-4200.

Only now saw this response, it's not a FCC regulation. Odds are the seller wanted to unload everything, and Delmarva only wanted the FM (for WDEL) but they also got WFAI in the deal. Sure Delmarva could sell the AM as quick as possible (if there's even an interested buyer); or if that's not an option maintain anything that keeps WFAI operating, and possibly, profitable.

Hey guys, there was some talk a few years back about putting a lower power onto one tower at WFAI and trying to reach over to Delaware like that instead of down the bay. Any thoughts about that?

I haven't heard of this, no FCC apps if it is a thing. One reason for a single tower, with reduced power, is to sell the real estate underneath the current 4 towers ($$$).

Swamp in Salem, NJ isn't very desirable property. Google 75 Route 45, Salem, NJ and take a look. It's assessed at $ 87,600.

Well could be worth more than WFAI haha. Doubt anything left the talk stage, FCC records seem to indicate that also.
