Dave Munsey Retires

After 42 years in the broadcasting business in both radio and TV.

Dave began his career with AFRTS then moving on to KOOL-FM in Phoenix where he hosted an evening show with Jeanne Sedello. He entered TV with the local Fox affiliate KSAZ as the evening weather guesser with the tag line "Watch your kids around water!"

I'm honored to have Dave as a neighbor and look forward to seeing him walking his big white dog Mya around the block.

According to Bill Close' obit ( http://archive.azcentral.com/community/phoenix/articles/20130128anchor-bill-close-dies.html ) Munsey and Close knew each other well. I don't recall Hank Hubbard.

I lived in Tucson until summer of 1979 when we moved to Phoenix but don't remember him down there either. The only "news" person I recall from the Tucson market was the wacky weatherman with the bent pipe pointer.

Munsey had the morning show on KOOL-FM. I remember him reading a lot of weather information besides the local forecast in those days. Thus, it was no surprise to me that he started doing the weather on KOOL-TV.
