Kcct Corpus Christi

KCCT Corpus Christi has flipped from Americana "The Bridge" to Retro 1-0-4-1 It's still on 104.1 Corpus Christi , (Obviously.)

Jockless for now, but rumored to be programmed/LMA'd by one Ed Ocanas of Z-95 fame. Lots of good music . Beginnings of a website with live audio on http://retro1041.com. It was inevitable with the demise of K-Bay 92.7 and Jake 107.3.

KCCT is Retro 104-1?

What about this, Power 103-3? http://www.powerfmcc.com/
The ID I just heard on the stream says KCCT Corpus Christi! Is that even legal to have two translators on one AM station? I'm not in the Corpus Christi area so can't hear what 103-3 is really playing... According to FCC records the translator is rebroadcasting KSIX 1230.

I went through Corpus Christi and 103.3 was broadcasting dead air. 95.1 and 96.1 are KSIX, and 104.1 is Retro 104. I didn't bother to check AM.

Funny thing about translators. As I understand it, an AM station gets one. If they choose to lease a translator in addition to that one they have, there seems to be nothing to prevent that assuming they can do it by the rules (as in how that signal is translated). I know of a LPFM that wound up with a few translators although they could not have more than two. The remainder are leased. I suspect this is a loophole at the moment but the FCC would be hard pressed to disallow leasing translators as that has already been established for other classes of licensees. It would be tough to single out one type of service (ie: AM) and say it can't be done. I haven't checked the rules to support this but I have based the statement on what I've seen with other 'classes' of stations.

Not in Corpus either so I can't say.

You are correct that an AM with a translator may lease another translator to relay its existing FM translator. That's happening in a few places. Not sure if it's still doing it, but KOAZ in Albuquerque could also be heard in Santa Fe via a translator that relayed its FM translator. The only rule with AM translators was that a station that already had one couldn't apply for a waiver in any of the AM translator windows. Several AM's that had translators and found one to move during the windows did so with the condition that the existing translator would start relaying another station after the new translators signed on at their new locations.

I believe the 103.3 feed is solely an internet feed. At this moment 103.3 is not broadcasting, although I have heard that will change very soon.

Cool clouseau keep us updated because I don't know when I will return to the area next and be able to listen.
Corpus Christi should get a GlobalTuner. San Antonio has a couple, but no other cities in TX have them. http://www.globaltuners.com

I just heard that Power 103-3 is on the air, and using 107.7 KOUL as it's primary station. Their stream's legal ID says KOUL and K277BL. Looks like KOUL 107-7 and K228XM 93-5's Young Country format is gone.

I'm not sure what K228XM 93-5 and KNPI-LP 93-3 are doing now. Can anyone listen and tell us? KNPI-LP was completely off the air last week with no silent notification...

As of %:00 PM on June 20th K228XM is broadcasting dead air and KNPI-LP is off the air. Rumor has it 93.5 is going to translate KXTM 94.3 hebronville. That will be a good trick.

Also here's the 93-3 KNPI-LP website, it hasn't been updated since 2015 but if it's still correct Padre Island will have a decent community station soon. http://knpilp.org/

supposedly KNPI-LP is licensed and on the air. Judging by the limited information on the website, it seems they know what they are doing.

That's likely the case. I know a few LPFMs just got up for a day or two to 'get' the license, only to go back off for a move.

The RadioInsight article states that Power FM briefly appeared on 103.3 and 93.3 KNPI-LP back in April. So between April and now, 103-3 was dead air and 93-3 was off the air?
