WISH-TV Adds Extra Hour To Morning Lineup

http://www.adweek.com/tvspy/wish-adds-extra-hour-to-morning-lineup/191317

According to Nexstar the changes will come into effect on September 11th.

WISH-TV’s expansion to ‘All Local. All Morning.’ further enhances our commitment to 24-hour news and local programming,” said the station vice president and general manager, Randy Ingram. “These additional hours allow us to deliver more breaking news, investigative journalism, traffic and weather coverage in new, underserved time periods for viewers.”

The new programming will begin September 11. The morning show will air from 4-10am, followed by Indy Style from 10-11am and the midday show from 11am-noon.

With this expansion, WISH-TV becomes the market leader in total hours of local news and programming, and the only station that’s all local, all morning long.

What this story, along with the WISH website story, appears to leave out is that the change eliminates the former ratings leading WISH noon news. In the mid 1970s, that noon cast was the show Jane Pauley anchored during her time at WISH-TV. As I understand, that current day noon cast has lost viewers post CBS.

Plus, they can now air it at 11:00am if they want and that's what they'll do so that they can have a 'All Local. All Morning.' philosophy.

Not sure what you're trying to say there. Did I suggest somewhere that they couldn't "if they want?"

Well no but what I'm trying to say is they can now since they don't have CBS anymore.
