Emily Rooney: Expose on Howie Carr- Beat The Press

Both Howie and The Herald are survivors.....and are still operating in their craft (and made millions doing so).

Which is more than you can say about some radio people Yo.

(So full of piss and vinegar you are!)

The question is : What are they surviving. Both the Herald and RKO are headed to oblivion and as Reagan once said of the old soviet union - ' the trash heap of history '. Both are in a death spiral.

Jerry was able to get his galpal, the other Sandy, a state job with State Treasurer Joe Malone.

Jerry was no saint but he was an immense talent we will probably not see again. At least he wasn't a pig like the man he worked for at WRKO. As the old Greek saying goes..." A fish rots from its head...."

moving on

What we all are surviving?...to live to see another day just like all of us...maybe make/leave a little scratch for heirs?

Both the Herald and RKO are headed to oblivion...' the trash heap of history '. Both are in a death spiral.

Did the Herald fire you too? I would say the Globe, NY Times, and every other print paper is in a death spiral. WRKO and all AM radio is in a death spiral.

If that is the inevitable, (and most think it is), the question is 1.) can smart people keep it airborne as long as they can and 2.) can they get every nickel out of it they can before it bites the dust.

Looks like both the Herald and WRKO are doing a pretty good job at both of them

At least he wasn't a pig like the man he worked for at WRKO. As the old Greek saying goes..."

He's a pig because he fired you? ( I suppose that will be inscribed on your tombstone., since it's one of your 3 recurring themes.)

Wasn't this the issue that got you thrown off this board before?

Couldn't you use your remaining years to be something more productive in this world, as opposed to reliving the past and spewing vitriol?

I attended the recent WRKO reunion...and there was a joke about people remembering the "guy that hired them" and "the guy that fired them". There were lost of people from the past there.....many old bosses, many old rivalries, many old memories of people not being their best. And you know what? Everyone has moved on. People who were fired or mistreated by others...had moved on and are not holding onto the past. Yes, some good guys got trampled on. Some bastards did well for themselves. That's life. Learn a lesson and move on.

They are happy to have been "in the game" and for what lessons it taught them.

We are all getting old. Some of us have croaked. It would be nice to use the time we have left to let go of resentments and leave the world a little better sunnier place.

Sorry, excuse the mixed metaphor but this fish was a pig. He's bragged to all how many account executives he screwed on his monthly trip to the NewYork ad agencies while his wife and jkids were sitting home in Wellesley. Wonder if they were related but this fish looked and acted like the Trump in the Billy Bush interview. Wonder who finally fired this pig at RKO? Some believe the ' virus' finally got him...one dead fish.

So Fish acknowledged he had a family, which put him one-up on Jerry. Heck, you must have been glad to get fired rather than work for a reprobate like Fish.

Sounds like a self-solving problem. What's this neverending angst?

Regards,
TSB

Correction: Jerry always acknowledge his family wife and daughters. He ended his 'MEX and ' BZ broadcast by saying "Good night "T". His wife was "T" Terry.

And, you? What are you for attacking a dead man? A very small individual......

Sounds like a self-solving problem. What's this never ending angst?

Mental illness?

This is what you typically do on these threads, bring up something that is not even being discussed, so you can rant on of your personal pet peeves.

Besides focusing on your own little world....I fail to see how your personal problems are relevant to radio discussions....except how not to handle your career.
