Verizon to take over Disney

OK theres more question marks on this article unless the CEO's and boards of Verizon and Disney have a meeting then this is unconfirmed.

Here is financial analysis from TheStreet:

The one thing I've noticed by these mega-mergers is they don't necessarily improve the value of the company. In other words, you'd think adding Yahoo to Verizon would add to the value of Verizon, at least in terms of stock price. It really hasn't. It certainly won't improve creativity.

Maybe ABC network and Disney content delivery via LTE to affiliates and Theaters. Just plug the cable from your phone into your station or theater equipment.

Case and point was CBS split by Viacom and CBS was seen as the more creative entity than Viacom after the split.

Hmmm....I don't know about that. Both were in the content creation business. That's the creative side. The split was about grouping growth. Broadcast wasn't growing as quickly as cable.

Verizon doesn't create content. It's a common carrier, like AT&T.

Verizon does create content now, at least on the Web, through it's acquisitions of AOL and Yahoo!

Disney is a huge company. I really don't see this happening, but who knows. Clearly Verizon sees themselves at a competitive disadvantage to Comcast with the latter owning NBC/Universal.
