Pensacola's Jet 100.7 off air

Looks like Jet has been on air but with a dead carrier all day. Technical trouble or a format change pending? Only one person bothered to mention it on their Facebook page, he got no response because why would you want to interact with a listener and let them know what's going on?

It's back on tonight. They also had a tent set up at the Blue Angles air show today. Maybe the engineer went to the air show and got stuck in traffic. :)

Frankly, I'm surprised anyone is left in the local office to staff the tent. It was rather embarrassing seeing their photos on the Facebook page for the station saying something about giving away a thousand station goodies and no one had bothered to like the photo at all.

Cat Country 98.7 does more promotions at local events than all other Pensacola radio stations combined.
Cumulus and Clear Channel hang banners and maybe park a van.
Cat Country sends the dude in the cat costume and the hot, young, DJ.

Heck, I can't remember the last time Cumulus Pensacola offered free pizza at a car dealership.

I would wager "never". If they did anything like that it had to have been prior to Cumulus' takeover. I'm glad the outage was short lived. It's the only music station I really listen to on the rare occasions when I listen to music radio anymore.

There was a time when Cumulus did live radio most of the time, but that ended in October '08 and early '09. Cumulus also tried to avoid mass firings during takeovers and format changes before then, too. It would try to place its good people at other stations within the company when big changes happened. I'd have to guess before the Great Recession was the last time that cluster had much of a street team.

The Jet audience probably isn't one to "like" posts en masse on FB. Tech issues can pop up unexpectedly. Could of been STL connectivity issues, a DA failure, or a console issue. It happens to the best one time or another.
