WGRR history

Does anyone know who took Craig Roberts' place on overnights after he switched back to weekends? I know Wally J. was in 98 and Steve Mann in 99. 96 and 97 is what I am wondering. Also how long did Ted McAllister stay and did C.C. Matthews work there in 94 after being let go by Wink FM? Thank you.

All I know is that I once enjoyed listening to WGRR. I no longer do. Considering their current numbers, I obviously remain the all too rare exception.

Sorry I can't be any more of a help.

I am with you 100%. I too must be the rare exception

I enjoyed WGRR as an oldies station, and it's still a good Classic Hits station. I'll still flip it on when I'm up that way. I've got no clue who was on overnights in 1997-98. I was listening then but just don't remember

Okay. I'll admit it. I'll still stop for a song or two -- usually in middays with Rockin' Ron. Frankly never liked or listened to Chris and Janeen. Keith is the typical PD who has to pull a shift too. Probably a great guy off-air but sounds overworked and throws away too many breaks for my taste. Seems that outside of middays I get one of two things when I hit GRR. Either they're in spots or they're playing some fried to a crisp AC leaning classic rocker like Seger or Bryan Adams, Fleetwood Mac or Journey. But like I've said, the numbers are great and I'm the exception.

Stan "The Music Man" Knox aka Michael Hull worked overnight during the period you mentioned 97, 98. Ted McAllister was programming consultant from the station's beginning and until at least 1997, maybe until 2000, working as part of the E Alvin Davis consulting company. C C may have done fill in work for a short time in 94 after WINK but C C returned to town at a Salem owned station for maybe a year around 2003, thinking 1160 AM

Outside of middays and afternoons their On Air Staff sound like they all are from a sub top 50 market. I call it Shoe Carnival Radio. Anyone remember when they would have a DJ in their stores playing music and promoting sales?
