Is 88.1 Austin stunting?

KNLE 88-1 the Independent Christian music station in Austin has been repeating the same song for at least all day. It's the first time I've heard this channel in 3 months, has that been going on long?

I don't listen to the station but I found this contact information if you are interested in contacting them.

The Christian station was co-founded 20 years ago by Sherland Priest...

NOTE: The article was written in 2001 so add 15 years to the 20 years for a total of 35 years.

According to Radio Locator, KLNE 88.1 Round Rock Texas has offices at 12703 Research Blvd. Suite 222 Austin Texas 78759. Telephone number: 512-257-8880. KLNE is licensed as a non commercial Class A FM with a power of 3KW. Looking at the coverage map it covers a very small area which is expected with a Class A FM.

I guess they were either contacted since last night or decided to revert to the regular music mix.
It's now playing a wide variety of songs that actually aren't bad. :)

Now they've mixed in Christian preaching with the music! Nice! I hope this station canmore easily make ends meet soon.

For any engineers in the area reading, KNLE is a little bit overmodulated (the sound is slightly too loud and distorts the transmitter a little on some songs). Not that much of a big deal but I thought I'd mention it.
Wish this station was streaming online! If they could get that going it might help them with their independent outreach.

Guys don't support that station! Someone told me who the engineer is, and it's not good unless they get a new one.

I just listen for the unique music and that's it... Haven't heard it in a while though

Just felt bad for the station that's all. The owner was crying on air last year because he wasn't getting any support. Since I haven't heard it I'm not sure if it's gotten better. If my info source is correct though and Cesar Guel's the engineer, stay away!

I'm not sure about the engineer, now. Maybe they got a new one or are just doing their own engineer work.
Anyway the phone number for KNLE recently changed. I was up in Austin and heard it, and the new number is (512) 917-1077.

Sherland's apparently the only guy running it, but I also heard an ID message from another guy, in case KNLE's listeners are getting tired of hearing only Sherland talk (Yeah the other guy said and I quote "I know Sherland's probably getting tired of hearing himself talk"). It's still got it's mix of indie Christian music on. I like the different music that nobody else plays, but wish there was a way to know artist and title information since it's not on their website http://www.knle.org/.

Maybe in the future KNLE will somehow get better to what it was in 2001. Those guys on-air just sound depressed. :(

Guys get away from this station 88.1 and the guy who runs it... If you wanna know why send me a PM. If you really feel sorry for them and wanna help I guess you can, I'd just be careful around the owner.

The station currently sounds awful! Very overdriven like they turned up the volume on purpose to get attention. I'm being careful just speculating as a listener. KNLE must have a crappy engineer.

Here is a much better Indie Christian station than KNLE. This one is from a different state, and has preaching sometimes as well. They're also streaming online. The FM is on 107.9 (other end from KNLE ironically) and only 99 watts.
