I hope somehow this is all a ploy to get KIOO to pay a few bucks to have this translator for themselves. Is a true KYAF translator even possible in Fresno?

Is KYAF actually ON THE AIR in Firebaugh?? In order for KYAF to be on a translator the parent station MUST be on the air as licensed. There is some doubt that it is actually on the air. I'm never going out to Firebaugh to find out. lol Anyone else ever ge out that way? If so, please verify for us that KYAF actually has a signal on 94.7.
Isn't one of the rules that the station's minimum signal has to come close to the translator, I was at Herndon and 99 on the 4th of July and no signal on 94.7, also 104.3 LPFM KJOI Boila was off the air, but 100.5 Auberry was on the air.
Different rules depending on who owns the translator and what station it rebroadcasts, and whether commercial or non-commercial.
I see Cocola has 99.7 on the air with a dead carrier from the new Van Ness and Belmont location as of 9 AM July 27.

100.5 is still a dead carrier at noon thursday- maybe they are both - 99.7 and 100.5 translating KYAF LOL nobody has varified whether 94.7 is on or not. I still hear KIOO in Clovis.
I heard the 99.7 Dead Air lol, while going to Down Town Fresno this Afternoon 7/27, It covers up KIOO beginning on 168 at McKinley heading west on 180, the only time KIOO would briefly interrupt would be going under the on and off ramp to and from 41, other than that it was a clean no audio signal, KIOO keeps it out of Clovis and East Fresno, East of Chestnut, perhaps if I point a directional ant. right at it , it might come in, I did see an antenna on top of a building between Fulton and Van Ness just north of Belmont, but it didn't look like it was 72 Ft, more like 30-40 ft maybe they are temporarily using their old ant. and transmitter from old location, and Radio-Locator is now listing it as KYA Boss Radio.
100.5 is back on as of this afternoon.[/QUOTE
99.7 KIOO was blasting away from my driveway last week. So that is a good thing.

Actually I'm not against this station I would like it to happen, we need something different and if this the bring back to KKDJ bring it on, any alt rock of the 60s, 70s, and 80s, and I will point a directional antenna at it if I have to.

I'd be a lot more in favor of it on 98.5.

Yes I agree 98.5 would be better, but there that CP for KZLA 98.3 Riverdale, to be on the KJWL 105.5 tower with 25KW, I still wonder what's up with that? some issue with Huron getting a replacement FM for the move.

Was driving through Firebaugh Sunday night and the signal was pretty distorted. Yes, it was the Blues Show, but driving through there again tonight, didn't seem right. Do we really need a clone of 1980's Z-Rock. What I've heard doesn't take me back to KKDJ's originality or broad spectrum of rock.
KYAF 99.7 has gone from straight dead air to a high pitch tone sound, much like the Old EBS sound, wonder if their getting ready to go on.
