Comet TV returning to Phoenix

KTVK ran a commercial tonight on channel 3.2 announcing that Comet TV would be coming to that channel beginning August 1. Will the 24/7 news go away? Will the news and weather slide to channels 3.3 and 3.4? We'll find out Tuesday.

I actually like the 24/7 news. When I miss a newscast, I can always turn to the 24/7 news channel to catch up on local news. I would hate to see it go...

Me too BUT.....they would better serve their very few viewers if they would discard the time dependent segments such as traffic and weather.

Doesn't the Arizona News Channel still exist on Cox Cable?

The future is "over the top." Replace a 24/7 linear news repeat channel with a pre-packaged diginet then placing news stories/weather on a Roku/FireTV app is where TV is headed. Meredith already has FireTV apps for a handful of stations, but none for "azfamily" yet.

But weather is why I sometimes tune in...even if the radar is not current, I can still see what the general trends are and the 7 day forecast.

Traffic, I agree, is not relevant unless it's one of those "closures this weekend" type segments.

It's this subchannel, basically. KTVK's live stream platform provides exactly this service, repeating the most recent newscast. This sub needed to find another use sooner than this, to be honest.

Comet TV is up and running as promised. Instead of 3TV news reruns, we get Comet TV infomercials in the morning. Goody.

Program guide listings on my OTA DVR (provided by Gracenote) have not been updated yet. TitanTV has the correct listings. Station is aware of it so I don't know why it's taking them so long to change them.
