WNBP sold, changing?

So far the only example of that being what intended to be done are Bob Bittner's stations and soon to be ( I hope) WJIB's translator, assuming the pirate can be evicted.

I'd think Bob will put the WJIB translator on when ready regardless of whether the pirate is still on, it will just severly cut into the southern side of his coverage area.

The 106.1 Translator in Fitchburg is much more of an imposition on some of the adjacents that MRBIboredop speaks of. He hasn't responded to that

Look, I've lost count of all the translators in eastern MA that are now on 106.1 FM. If there are no other "free" channels to assign for this purpose, why doesn't the FCC just say NO? It's getting to the point where the AM band might before too long be in better shape wrt adjacent and co-channel interference.

Well, it's all part of the FCC's "AM Revitalization" effort, you know! ;-)

Just saw this, and I did not know there was a translator on 106.1 licensed to Fitchburg.

That is a bit out of the area of my interest, which would be inside of 495, Southern NH, and Fort Myers Florida.

But you are correct, they are pretty close to Binnie's 106.3 in some parts of their fringe pattern

I heard that Binnie is planning to move 106.3 off of Merrill Hill in Hudson to a site somewhere in Merrimack closer to Manchester.

That's just one option, sir. And this is still being talked out. But I'm impressed that you were privy to this all the way from Squamish ;)

Great skiing out there BTW!!!

Why would they want to move north and give up the coverage thy have down into MA?

Especially with the 1110 Translator on 98.9 trying to go up against them, and the WMLL firmly entrenched in Manchester?

Unless it has to do with the neighboring WNDS stick, I'm at a loss.

I hear all sorts of things at the office. Usually I stay out of it. I know what's actually going on. Trust me.

It's all about the programming

Yep. I have two translators in my car radio presets here in Meriden, CT -- the 91.9 translator of WMNR Monroe (classical) and the 96.1 translator of WNTY Southington (oldies). Do I miss hearing WSRS Worcester MA on 96.1? No, its content never interested me, and I've never been an FM DXer. The FMs I listen to regularly are all either Hartford, New Haven or Springfield market stations, all with signals that are strong locally. Maybe there are people in central Connecticut who are angry at losing a generic AC station from another market or being unable to hear whatever else is on the frequencies occupied by WMNR's little cluster of flea-power repeaters, but it's hard to imagine there are enough of them to matter. Count me as a listener grateful for translators!
