Jeffery Lord CNN under fire for a rant

Supposedly he tweeted "Seig Heil!"

Depending on the context that could be a sarcastic response to somebody
who is behaving in a dictatorial manner.

Too bad...he's been an interesting panelist at CNN. Of course there's no shortage of people to replace him, and they had a woman in his spot yesterday.

Still I find the approach they use difficult to watch, and isn't winning them new viewers or less criticism from the president.

I take issue with the headline that describes him as a "punching bag." That's what you get when you present the other side in a discussion. Some viewed the debates as a series of boxing matches, with blows struck one at a time. That's the nature of the beast. Otherwise, all you have is preaching to the choir. In all fairness, that's the role Juan Williams plays at Fox. He is the liberal punching bag. I saw Hannity interview a former Obama official who basically serves the same purpose. For years, that's what Alan Colmes did.

Reading the context of the Twitter exchange, Lord's particular response seems to be out of the blue and unwarranted. I imagine if a discussion went that way on this board, the moderator might consider at least a one week suspension.

Wow, looking back, the timing of this particular rant was unfortunate, given what happened a day or two later. Not that I'm saying there's any connection. Just that it's an interesting coincidence.
