They preempted that for this?

well its that time of the year....where NFL pre-season games overtake network programming forcing it to tape delay/subchannel viewing

Thursday August 10th.
Vikings/Bills game on KMSP FOX 9 pre-empts Shazam and Love Connection to 1:35 & 2:35am Friday Morning
Out in Fargo KVRR FOX 15 (and satellite stations) will show network programming at 11:05 & 12:05

oh and by the way....these arent inexplicable like someone thinks every pre-emption is

Preseason week 1 NFL in Hartford/New Haven:

WCTX-TV (MY) channel 59 of New Haven - Jacksonville @ New England (Thursday at 7:30 PM ET)
WCCT-TV (CW) channel 20 of Waterbury - Pittsburgh @ NY Giants (Friday at 7 PM ET)

WCBS-TV (CBS) channel 2 of New York City - Tennessee @ NY Jets (Saturday at 7:30 PM ET) [My relative gets WCBS-TV with their Frontier service.]

Shazam and Love Connection. No big loss there. RFLMAO

The other end of the Titans-Jets pre-emption is as always WKRN-2 (ABC)

I don't watch Andy Cohen's Love Connection (Chuck Woolery was 10x better), but Beat Shazam is a guilty pleasure here. Between the choices on the other networks (a Big Bang rerun I've already seen or Boy Band (blech!)) I'd rather play along with 'Name That Tune 2017 Edition'. Jamie Foxx is getting better as the host.
HOWEVER...NBC throwing new episodes of 'The Wall' to 8/7c starting this Thursday might conflict with my Jamie and October. Instead of Love Connection I watch the live Big Brother eviction on CBS.

Preseason preemption on Sunday (KCYU/41 and KFFX/11). Seahawks play the LA Chargers with a pregame at 4:30 and postgame at 8PM. This preempts the Teen Choice Awards which get moved to 11pm-1am.
8/18 reruns of Beat Shazam and MasterChef will move to 11pm for more Seahawks preseason.

Also, WCBS is the ONLY station that carries Jets preseason games. Kind of odd that nobody in even Albany or Hartford/New Haven has picked up the Jets unless the Jets have zero or very few fans outside of the New York DMA.

Last night according to my TiVo listings, my local ABC affiliate aired a football game. I don't know why because Charlotte hasn't been a Washington market for more than 20 years since we got the Panthers. "Boy Band" was bumped to Saturday afternoon. I already knew about this when I was looking for movies, and then found out about the game. Part 2 of the Diana special (which I didn't care about) was on their co-owned independent station that used to be Pax and now airs reruns of the daytime talk shows.

WKRC (My CBS Station) Is showing the bengals game tonight at 7:30.... so that means that MacGyver, blue bloods and son of sam (Some special CBS Is airing tonight) will be pushed to 2 in the morning.
From Zap2it.

Oh, and inside edtion wont be on tonight too, and ET gets pushed back to when the the games over.

NBC affiliates that have never preempted any NBC network show

Just curious, this may be a silly question, but since NBC is my all time favorite television network (I like ABC, CBS, FOX, and the other television networks, but NBC is my favorite), are there any NBC television affiliates (besides WNBC in New York City, KNBC in Los Angeles, and WMAQ in Chicago, since they're owned and operated by NBC) that have never pre-empted any NBC network television show, daytime, evening, and nighttime (except for special events, breaking news, special reports, etc.), and the NBC shows have aired in its exact time slot without moving to a much later timeslot a half-hour, an hour, or more than an hour later? :) The reason I ask is because I read that WDIV in Detroit didn't air "Late Night With David Letterman" and "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" in the 1980's and 1990's, and WMAR in Baltimore (when it was an NBC television affiliate before it became an ABC affiliate) didn't air Johnny Carson's "Tonight Show" in the 1980's, and WPCQ (now WCNC) didn't air NBC Nightly News with Tom Brokaw in the 1980's (from circa 1982 to 1985, I think), and I also read that my NBC affiliate in St. Louis, KSDK, pre-empted some (not all, but some) NBC daytime television shows and those NBC Daytime shows aired on ABC affiliate KDNL also in the 1980's (when KDNL was an independent station), like with me being a huge game show fan, "The Match Game-Hollywood Squares Hour" with hosts Gene Rayburn and Jon Bauman, from 1983 to 1984:) And KPRC in Houston didn't air "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" until 2:40 AM.
Thanks! :)

I think that is going to be a tough one to answer, unless someone responds as a programmer from an NBC affiliate. Even then, they probably wouldn't know the answer to that question.

It is easier to list stations that HAVE pre-empted shows. One of the most notorious is KSL Salt Lake City that did not carry Saturday Night Live for many years, (as well as other primetime offerings) finally reversing their decision in 2013.

I doubt there are anything that have NEVER preempted the network. (O&Os would presumably preempt the least, but even they probably do sometimes.)

If I were going to seek out an answer, I'd look at the very smallest markets. Look for the smallest markets that always had affiliates for all three (later four) major networks. Those small stations wouldn't have had much reason to preempt but would have wanted to collect every dollar of network compensation they could get. (There were always Billy Graham crusades, though, that paid more than network comp, though.)

(But a station that cherry-picked from more than one network probably would have preempted a lot.)

And KSL didn't carry any NBC programming prior to 09/10/95 (they were a CBS affiliate). ;)

BTW--years ago, around 1980, then-NBC affiliate KUTV always delayed SNL an additonal hour--to 11:30 PM MT (instead of the "in pattern" 10:30). Guess management wanted to make sure the kiddies were in bed and wouldn't watch this adult fare!

So the point is that soon after KSL achieved the NBC affiliation, they dropped SNL. So this means there were 17 years the NBC affiliate in SLC (KSL) did not run SNL. And other primetime shows,

And KUTV delayed it. Wow. But atleast they aired it at some point.

SLC tv stations determining what is allowed on their home network, and what time they air, I guess is their right. But it just doesn't seem right, IMO. However, it does them no favor with their affiliated networks, unless they really care, which I'm not sure of.

NBC on Demand app? they probably have to be the only ones that never pre-empt any NBC programming. I can say that NBC O&O KNTV has pre-empted NBC Programming because of San Francisco Giants games produced by NBC SPorts Net Bay Area.

I don't know about NBC but I can't recall WXLV in the Winston-Salem NC area pre-empting anything on ABC. WSOC-TV in Charlotte has always been bad about airing shows such as "9 Investigates", "Health Digest", High School Football previews, Prepare for severe weather, and "Gimme the Mike Charlotte" (local "American idol" type show).

Between NBC affiliates who carried games for the local baseball/basketball/hockey team,
and those who carried the Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon, I think this is highly unlikely.
