Music Choice music video channels?

What are the Music Choice music video channels? I saw a video on Youtube about the new Music Choice with audio and music video channels available on RCN. Are the music video channels proper linear music video channels like the old MTV? On demand? Do you need internet or what really are they?

Music Choice are audio music channels on cable systems. No "videos" but still images and text with artist, title and trivia. Formats run the gamut from easy listening to current pop.

Directv uses a service called "sonic tap", which I understand is an offshoot of DMX music. What I like about them is they are not afraid to go deep into library cuts that don't much get airplay on radio today. Good for them...they can probably get away with this due to the fact that they likely are not under any ratings pressure. Their 70's channel is especially rich.

What sort of viewership do those primitive (technically) music channels have on satellite or cable? Do people actually watch the still photos and trivia bits or do they just pump the audio through their entertainment system while watching something else on the TV?

I've used Music Choice, Sonic Tap and Stingray before. Music Choice is still my favorite even though Stingray is not that bad.

I believe it serves as background music for the most part. I have gone to open houses where they play it to get the potential buyer in the mood. Seriously. I use it for background, as when I am doing work on my computer I can focus better when there is music that I like as opposed to CNN analysts yelling at each other.

Especially when the 24-hour news cycle is so much about opinion now and when MTV is nothing but reality, Music Choice is just an excellent way to calm down and really play Music to make us all feel good.

Yes, exactly right. I think the cables/satellites are doing a good job of offering this service at low cost to them, and at great benefit to users. I also believe many cable/dish subscribers are not even aware of this service included with their basic cable. I would encourage those to explore beyond their basic channels!

However, more and more are getting away from Music Choice, which is pretty sad. DirecTV has Sonic Tap, DISH has SiriusXM and another service, AT&T has Stingray. Thankfully, I live in an apt. complex where I can get Music Choice and the cable company that I have, Cox, has a share in Music Choice, LLC. As long as Cox has that share, I'll always have Music Choice.

Xfinity (Comcast) still has Music Choice. If they ever decide to go in another direction (in house?) for music, that might mean the end of the road for Music Choice.

Nobody seems to understand what I'm asking. On Verizon what are the music 'video' channels from channels 1875 to 1899. For example 'Music Choice Kids' only is on channel 1832 and 'Music Choice Kids Only Video' is on channel 1892? Is this a proper linear music video channel or what ate channels 1875 to 1899? Are they just links to the app? On Demand?

I'm not really sure what you are referencing here. Verizon? On Cable? Perhaps nobody can answer this because the question isn't very clear. There are indeed video channels on cable systems that are available at extra cost, but again, I don't know what you are referring to. Would love to help, but I don't get what you are asking.

Music Choice only shows music videos ondemand the channels just have audio only with trivia & facts on Charter Spectrum.

A cable subscription that carries Music Choice gives you access to their app and website. There are multiple video channels available there. I'm unaware of any cable system offering that content via the cable box though.

What are the channels on Verizon from 1875 to 1899 like 'Music Choice Kids Only Video' on channel 1893. Is this a proper linear music video channel?

"Proper linear music video channel" is an odd phrase. What do you mean by that? Also, if you are in an area served by Verizon but are not a subscriber yourself, why don't you just ask someone who is, since whatever it is you are talking about is apparently exclusive to Verizon.

A proper linear video music channel is like the old MTV that just played music videos one after another (like a schedule of videos) like MC Play, BET Jams, CMT Music, like you cant choose what videos you want. Like any other music channels that are in countries around the world. Are these channels on Verizon labelled 'Music Choice Kids Only Video' etc a proper linear music video channel or a link to the app or what?

Yes, indeed, Music Choice offers lineal music video channels. I'm watching the Música Urbana channel right now, and it has a generic Music Choice logo in the lower right.
