Monday Night Football on ESPN & ESPN2

I thought this was curious when I saw Monday Night Football on two ESPN channels. I started thinking about the reasons why they did it. Then I found the answer:

So the main ESPN is broadcasting the game in English, while ESPN 2 is showing the same video, but in Spanish. Interesting idea. Something only ESPN could do, given the number of cable channels they own. CBS, Fox, and NBC could offer Spanish simulcasts, but they wouldn't be on equal services.

ESPN has a full-time Spanish-language channel, ESPN Deportes, but its focus is soccer, baseball and other events with a bigger following among Latinos. It also is generally on a premium tier on cable systems, while ESPN and ESPN2 are available in all but the most bare-bones of packages.

NBCSN's availability ought to be approaching ESPN/ESPN2's by now, shouldn't it? Or is it still in a more expensive package than those two on many systems?

Maybe, but my point is the other channels are broadcast, while only ESPN is all cable. So if NBC put a Spanish broadcast on NBCSN, it would not be equal to NBC Network.

I think it's part of the sports tier, which is extra, while ESPN is basic.
