Halloween Week Graveyard Catch

I have to say, after all these years of DX, I'm starting to enjoy hanging out on the graveyard channels. It's definitely a "different animal".

This morning, about two hours before sunrise, I was on 1240 and snagged WJMC from Rice Lake, WI. 1KW. Climbed to the top just in time for me to hear "1240 WJMC". Then it was right back into the slop. Northwest part of "America's Dairyland", about 280 miles from me. I'm somewhat familiar with the area from fishing trips when I was in junior high and high school. Normal nighttime listenable range (at least then) for WJMC was about 12-15 miles. T

Nice catch! I went through Rice Lake a few times years ago on my way to Northern Minnesota.

Another pre-sunrise morning, and another new (for me) catch on 1240. WATT from Cadillac, MI, Complete with a positive ID. One killoWATT. 200 miles.

Be sure to send the station a note to let them know you received them, either post card or email. That way they will know that engineering is doing a good job.
