Logo- now classic TV channel?

Is Logo now turned into a classic TV channel. It shows Roseanne, Married with Children, All in the Family, Facts of Life and the Golden Girls then an episode of Ru Pauls Drag Race every so often which doesn't really fit with the other shows? Is it still aimed at the LGBT? If you were looking at it does it ever reference LGBT in presentations etc.

They've been showing older shows for a while now. The also show Alice and The Nanny from time to time. We have DIRECTV and a bare bones $50/month package. It does not include Logo, but last month they gave us a Sneak Preview of about 3 dozen other channels and LOGO was one of. They ran promos for a show related to Drag Race. Part of the promo was a little risque to say the least.

Yep, Logo is not on the basic Directv lineup. When I did get it with Charter (spectrum), they seemed to run a lot of old sitcoms, but also Will & Grace. I don't think they have sold out their LGBT theme, but perhaps they are adding more mainstream programming for revenue reasons. Don't really know.

another Viacom channel no longer filling their mission, like no music on MTV, no country music or even country themed programming on CMT

Next to no one wants to watch their 'core programming' so they likely had to add programming people would actually tune in for. I do like the Alice and Mama's Family reruns they air. They do put in a LOT of commercials, and a lot of them can be rough.

You certainly are clueless.

CMT airs Country Music Videos 5AM-9AM Monday Friday and until Noon on Saturdays and Sundays.

They air the talk show Pickler and Ben at 9AM and 2AM. Kellie Pickler is a popular Country singer and the show is taped in Nashville.

They air reruns and new episodes the popular drama NASHVILLE.

They air reruns of the sitcom Reba which takes place in Texas and starts a popular Country singer.

The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader Show.

Logo also just started airing Too Close for Comfort.

Some of the shows they air either have gay characters or star gay actors/actresses.

Married with Children - The annoying neighbor Marcy D'Arcy stared a gay actress.

Roseanne - Roseanne's mother came out as gay in one episode and several more episodes dealt with her being gay. Roseanne's friend Nancy was gay. Roseanne's boss (and later business partner) Leon Carp was gay. Roseanne even planned his wedding to Scott in one episode. Plus Roseanne's daughter Darlene was played buy a gay actress Sara Gilbert.

Three's Company - The John Ritter character pretended to be gay.

And their new pick up Too Close for Comfort stars a gay man by the way of JM J. Bullock.

I've see"Alice", "All In The Family" and "Silver Spoons" air on Logo and didn't find any gay references in those shows.

Yes. In one episode Archie saved the life of a female impersonator in the back of his taxi. There was also a 2 part episode at Christmas dealing with the female impersonator's murder and how it affected Edith.

Yes, these episodes were well ahead of their time, and in fact, introduced the subject to many. This is what All In The Family will be noted for in TV history. The first one you mentioned was actually extremely funny, and the follow-up was more melancholy, but still good.

This also included the Nickelodeon cartoon, Rocko's Modern Life, where in one episode, Rocko reveals that one of his secrets is that he likes dolls and rainbows, which was probably a LGBT reference in the 90s. Not to mention, the whole episode, which was titled "Closet Clown" was a gay reference altogether.

This has to do with Viacom's upcoming restructuring of their cable networks around six channels - MTV, BET, Comedy Central, NICK, Nick Jr., and Spike (soon to be Paramount Network).

All focus - including original programming and the majority of the budget - will be placed on those channels and the others (TV Land, VH1, CMT, Logo, etc.) will be considered "non-essential" (their words).

The programming on the second level channels will consist of off-network reruns and rebroadcasts of original programming from the main six networks.

And, yeah, expect them to dig deep into the Paramount library.
