Lite FM 96.9 in Greenville

I was curious about how it sounded.

As much as I despise what they did to WEZV Myrtle Beach, I suppose I'd be grateful if I could pick up the same music in Asheville. WESC is better than I had hoped, though, so I'll settle for country.

That was fast. 96.9 is now Rejoice 96.9, gospel. Yet another hit for Jamz...

The last time Greenville had an urban gospel station was the ill fated Praise 103.3 from 2005-2006...

With all these translators, wish somebody would launch a Southern Gospel. I grew up with Bill Gaither, Happy Goodmans, Gospel Jubilee, Jimmy Swaggart and Tammy Faye Bakker. And Jimmy Swaggart is still going strong over 80 years old, still singing, preaching, and playing that piano. And they still own radio stations in various markets, but not sure about the Carolinas. But the SBN channel is on WGGS-16.3 and WMYT-55.3.

Since Salem launched 96.9, I can no longer get Kat Country from Charlotte on my rabbit ears radio. But I don't complain about this decision because their signal was always weak past Spartanburg because they broadcast from the northeast side of Charlotte, so their signal was not as strong here. But I do take issue with those translators broadcasting on the same channel as those stations from the west side of Charlotte, mainly 102.9 and 107.9. The legal spacing here is too close and creates interference issues where the Charlotte stations used to come in clear. Same in reverse for Charlotte translators interfering with B-93.7 and My 102.5 in Gaston, York, and Mecklenburg counties. This limits full power signals and creates mutual interference. As for country, I can choose 100.5 or even 103.7 with rabbit ears antenna. While 103.7 also broadcasts from the northeast side of Charlotte, somehow their full power signal is stronger than expected here, and it comes in good on my home radio in Greenville near Mauldin.
