The digital goddess Kim Komando coming to FM?

A little bird told me, now that I no longer work at KFYI and went somewhere else, that Mrs.KFYI the digital goddess Kim Komando has been scrubbed from the KFYI website and is going to the FM dial? An official announcement according to my little bird will be made on Tuesday at 7:40am MST.

Things that make you go hmmmm.

Maybe Kim is heading over to KTAR to replace the retiring Deplorable Darin Damme’s Reality Check show, which ends it’s run next week. KTAR will be looking to fill the 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. time slot and I for one hope that it is NOT more Dave Ramsey.

Maybe she can bring her husband along, Barry Young, so we can hear some fake studio audience again, now in crystal clear FM Stereo and HD! Clap clap clap clap!!

In addition to her Sunday show, the DG will be heard daily at 6:17am. KTAR's release mentioned she's married to The Nearly Bald One. Now if she changes her last name to Rice and Barry's to Beans, then the two would be known as ..... Never mind.

It's syndicated via barter from WestStar where the station runs the syndicator's spots in exchange for the rights to the show. While this uses some inventory, it pays for the program.

If the Nearly Bald One still browses this website, perhaps he'll see this note and get it updated?

Actually the Mon-Fri vignettes are the same as she did on 5~Fifty and allow her syndicator to make far more money than what comes from an hour on Sundays. As is the case of all goddesses, Los Buckeye Boyz are not worthy!

Yeah, so in the last few months she went from all three hours being played on two stations (remember the disaster that was KFYI2) to airing for one measly hour a week.

That isn't a good trend.

I live in the Phoenix metro area and have for decades. Barry Young ruled the "morning" roost at KFYI for decades. Don't he and his wife, Kim, own Westar and produce commercials for many different markets? I was told that that's the bulk of his current livelihood. I suspect he still does his annual national Yuletide show also.
When he passed the baton to Mike Broomhead, I stopped regular listening. Unfortunately, for those who wish to listen to KFYI at night, if you live in North Phoenix or North Scottsdale, the AM power levels are turned way down at night (per the FCC) and reception is terrible. That may be good if you dislike George Noory and Coast-to-coast AM, but if you want to listen at night and avoid lots of static, you have to do it via iHeart.
