Brian Ross suspended by ABC news over the Michael Flynn coverage

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/12/02/us/brian-ross-suspended-abc.html

and the suspension is going to be 4 weeks according to ABC.

ABC News announced Saturday that it has suspended investigative reporter Brian Ross for four weeks without pay after Ross was forced to correct a bombshell on-air report about Michael Flynn.
"We deeply regret and apologize for the serious error we made yesterday. The reporting conveyed by Brian Ross during the special report had not been fully vetted through our editorial standards process," ABC said in a statement. "As a result of our continued reporting over the next several hours ultimately we determined the information was wrong and we corrected the mistake on air and online."
"It is vital we get the story right and retain the trust we have built with our audience -- these are our core principles," the statement added. "We fell far short of that yesterday."
Citing a single anonymous source, Ross told viewers during an ABC special report on Friday morning that Flynn was prepared to testify that Donald Trump, as a candidate for president, told him to contact Russians.

This was over the errors of the timeline when Flynn had contact with the Russian cabinet though.

and we already have a hard enough time trying to deal with the president calling all legit new organizations "Fake News" and he gets his news from Russian back fake news outlets and alt-right friendly media outlets too.

Update and now Donald Trump and his cabinet makes a threat to sue Disney. This is the second time that Donald Trump has went after Disney and its for political and cabinet feud reasons.

The first time Disney feuded with Trump was because an ESPN pundit feuded with the president over racial tensions and it lead to the NFL getting in the feud between and ESPN pundit and Trump.

Now ABC News a different wing of Disney is now getting targeted by the President's cabinet over the Michael Flynn coverage.

Update and now Donald Trump and his cabinet makes a threat to sue Disney.

Not sure where you see that in the attached article. What it says is he's encouraging the public to sue Disney for losses they incurred when the stock market dipped after the report. Neither he nor his cabinet are threatening to sue. If it was that easy to sue for changes in the stock market, people would do it every day.

Meanwhile Lou Dobbs says Obama should be put in jail for suggesting someone needs to edit Trump's tweets. He thinks there's a law that prevents past presidents from criticizing current presidents. Lou obviously is becoming senile in his old age.

Yes the article said that though but not shocking though. I say nothing is going to happen to Disney though. Disney has withstood another feud with Trump over in the ESPN Division.

Wow Now senator Grassley has come forward and defended Brian Ross. Expect this feud to be bigger soon though given President Trump's and his cabinet's history with feuding with the media for what ever the issue is. At this point you cannot separate the stuff that a news director has to do in making hard decisions without pouring politics in the process when one of your talent is being targeted here.

I read it three times, and don't see it. The fact is no one loses money just because the price of a stock falls. It only happens IF they SELL it. So if people left their stock alone, the market recovered pretty quickly, and it's unlikely people lost money. And I find it strange that the dip was supposedly caused by one TV report. Looking at the chart, it could have been an auto-sell when the market peaked at a certain high figure.

Maybe someone should sue him when the market drops after HE says something dumb.

Well I have no evidence that Trump and Disney during the Flynn fallout that there's any relation to stock share values. But I do know that a feud is at play based on how the articles are describing the ABC News vs. Trump Cabinet feud over Michael Flynn.

The word "cabinet" doesn't appear at all in the article. What it does say is Trump complimented the ABC News management for suspending Ross. So it doesn't sound like there's a feud between anyone and ABC News.

What a tool Dobb is. I've never been a fan of the pompous hypocrite (wife is Mexican), but he states Obama should be arrested for violating the "unwritten law" that former Presidents should not criticize sitting Presidents. What Obama said was fairly mild, I think. Jimmy Carter actually came to Trump's defense a few weeks ago.

Can we have Trump arrested for violating the unwritten rule that the President shouldn't be a narcissistic sociopath?

This is not the first time that Brian Ross has gotten a major story wrong.
You'd expect any employer to discipline an employee for shoddy performance.

Yes and I remember that Brian Ross mentioned an innocent person who happened to share the same name as the 2012 Colorado Mass murderer while ABC News and their Colorado affiliate was still verifying that Colorado Law enforcement got the Mass Murderer in the movie theater shooting.

Here is an update on Brian Ross.

Now that his four-week unpaid suspension from ABC News is complete, Brian Ross is returning to the company, but in a different capacity.

Ross will move down the street from ABC News headquarters to Lincoln Square Productions, the production company that makes unscripted content for the Disney ABC Television Group/ABC News, and other broadcast, cable and digital outlets.

Ross will have the title of “chief investigative correspondent,” and he will work with ABC chief of investigative projects Rhonda Schwartz on “long-term projects” at the company, including unscripted programming and documentaries.

He will no longer cover breaking news stories, nor anything related to the Trump administration for ABC News.
