Just heard an announcement on 104.9 FM saying that on Monday at 12 noon, the programming that is currently on 104.9 will switch to KPWK 93.3 FM HD2. This probably means that they will be leasing the station to Bustos Media and Spanish programming will be heard in the South Sound on 104.9 FM, the north sound on the newly acquired103.3 FM and in King County on 99.3 FM. I speculate that this change, as well as the change on 102.9, will be that the alternative rock programming on 102.9 will be replacing Jack FM 96.5, and classic hits moving to 102.9, most likely as Eagle 102.9 as the KFNY call letters are very similar to KFMY 97.7, that used to serve the South Sound with that format, that's my two cents. We see if my speculation pans out.

Something tells me that's not likely to happen, but you get points for the most interesting prediction of the week. As I've been thinking about this, I remembered when I was down that way last spring, I got a 92.9 in Olympia that I initially thought was knife edge from KDBL. Instead, it turned out to be an HD subchannel on a translator of 94.5 KRXY, branding as Feel Good Country 92.9. That could be what the new 102.9 Is going to be.
That being said, do we know if iHeart will be operating the station after Monday, or is an LMA going to start right away? I think that will be a deciding factor in what the future of 102.9 holds. The Bustos prediction for 104.9 is unlikely at best, though simulcasting 1210 on 104.9 wouldn't be a bad idea.

That 92.9 has been on for a year or two at least. There's also a rock station in Olympia on 101.9 that is also fed through one of Roxy's HD subs.
99.3's transmitter is west of Shelton, so I doubt they want to put La Gran D on 104.9 as well. If Spanish, it could be Spanish Pop, like Mega 96.3 in LA. Or 104.9 might become some AM simulcast for a while. We shall see at noon on 12/11.

Mega, the only Spanish-language CHR in LA, has a 3 share. The regional Mexican format has a just over a 12 share. Spanish language adult hits and AC has 10 shares. That is out of 26 total 18-49 shares for all Spanish language radio in LA. The remaining share point is split between religion, talk and sports.
CHR is not the first format in line for audience appeal.

While your point is valid, I think you missed the point. The point made is we already have a Regional Mexican station in the market, so if either 102.9 or 104.9 is going Spanish anything, it wouldn't be wise to do the same format as 99.3, and I completely agree with that. There's already a Spanish CHR in the market on 1210, and I could see that possibly coming to fm.
I don't think 1210 is Mexican-Latino-Hispanic CHR anymore. It seems to play a lot of ranchero/norteno.
There is more audience to be had by being the second regional Mexican station than as a CHR station. All it takes is doing a different blend of regional (there are, in México, about 4 or 5 different and significant variants on the format). The second choice would, in most markets, be a regional based adult hits.
Also ... did they move out of that old KASY facility in Auburn? It looks like it's now abandoned.
Guess the time has come for KUBE to become history. But at the same time could give KHTP a chance to siphon the older demos while KQMV and KPWK, despite being Top 40s, will try to redirect listeners to their stations, especially those who don’t have HD radio. KNHC, despite being non commercial and Dance-centric, could see a boost in listeners and supporters.

Keep guessing. But if EMF were to buy the signal, it would cover a corner of the market that KLSW (and KNBQ) has trouble filling, and the K-LOVE branded CCM format is the money maker for EMF.
I can sorta pick up the signal in my car (I'm in southern Snohomish county), and what I heard was CCM, interspersed with XMAS music...no promos, liners etc.
