Whats up with Bob Bitner? Anyone know?

A couple of weeks ago Bob was away from his station, I had heard he had posted that he went to the hospital with a bad case of the flu.

And someone told me he posted on FB that he is "very ill".

Anyone close enough to Bob to inquire as to how he is doing?

Sucks to be sick....and doubly so, sick at Christmastime. :-(

I'm better now. Near-fatal experience in October. After a few hospital stays (MGH-Boston and in Brunswick Maine), I'm out of the woods now. Still need 10 hours of sleep a day and am weak, but I'm improving slowly and steadily. Meanwhile, the (old) hits just keep on a' comin'.

Hey. Speaking of Bittner on a (slightly) off topic note, what will happen to the stations when he passes away? I know it might not happen for quite a while, but just wondering what standard FCC protocol is if an owner passes away? Single people usually don't own stations anymore (usually corporations), but as a One-Man band this is an interesting case. Speculation anyone?

Now is not really the time to ask that...
 
When I'm gone.... according to my will, my wife gets the stations. An application to the FCC documenting my will, would then be granted by the FCC, for her ownership. My wife is 100% in support of the music format on WJIB/WJTO, etc. (well, except for country oldies!) so there would be no changes to the stations. - Next you might ask "What happens when SHE's gone, too". THAT, I don't have an answer yet. (We're both close to age 69).

Well that answers that question, hopefully we will not have to revisit this conversation for many many many years to come.
