Attack Attack!

Actually, it is a bit serious - complete blockages are. Like him or not - prayers for his recovery.

Prayers? Eh. Not my thing.

TB has certainly done his part in making political and ideological discourse completely and needlessly poisonous.

Though I do think the thread title is incredibly tacky.

WBEN noted earlier today that Bauerle successfully underwent surgery and is recovering. (If memory serves, he was going to have a quadruple bypass procedure done.)

I have no love lost for Bauerle and his takes; that said, at the same time I'm not going to kick someone when he's down. I do hope he makes a full recovery.

I do hope he makes a full recovery.

However it would be helpful if a certain teeny tiny part of his brain, about yay big, remains under anesthesia indefinitely. I don't mean like Jack Nicholson at the end of "Cuckoo's Nest", but something a bit more....calm, shall we say.

Doctors cracked his chest and actually found a heart. Surgery successful.

Spewing vitriol on the Radio for so many years must take its toll. Two talking heads with bloated egos in a small market.
Bauerle is like the "player that struts and frets his hour upon the stage and then is heard no more. A tale told by an idiot. Full of sound & fury signifying nothing".

Apologies to Shakespeare...

A near-ten-share in radio revenue market #43 is hardly "small" by any measure.

OK, you dislike the show. There are 48 other AM, FM, LPFM and translators in the market; listen to something else.

Ah, the most trite of responses to criticism of an on-air personality: "Go listen to something else".

That was helpful and necessary.

And also practical. Every station owner, manager and programmer knows that most people are not listening to them, and that is normal.

Anybody know the story behind the shift change? I was under the impression that the rift between the two started because Sandy Beach wanted to do mornings and forced the issue. Tom Bauerle's post, however, implied that the change was made because Sandy wasn't pulling his weight with the afternoon sponsors.

Bronx

Not a big TB fan, however I heard thru the vine at that time that the change was for the reason TB just recently stated.

Wouldn't be surprised if the "breaking news" excuse was just that, an excuse, and ETM is really just readjusting PM drive in light of an aging Beach. I'd bet that when Beach retires (he's gotta be in his late 70's by now), his shift will go syndie, with TB already comfortably ensconced in PM drive.

Buffalo is market #58, not #43 as Eduardo stated. WBEN may now carry on with its planned obsolescence...

Ready, fire, aim.

I said Buffalo was revenue market #43.

That means that, of all radio markets, Buffalo ranks 43rd in total radio revenue.

Nothin' like a little family feud to brighten the holidays. Just like home. If The Lancet or Journal of American Medical Association did a study and found that talk radio, listening or doing, leads to increased anxiety and stress which can lead to heart attacks and strokes, would you be a bit surprised?

Good for him. Hope he - and anyone else in his medical situation - recovers as fully as possible.

That said, TB has certainly given an undergrad course in capitalizing on a bad situation. Garish self-promotion like that is a turn-off for me. I think less of him now.

I'm of the same mindset. I didn't think much of Tom before-and the bad blood between him and Sandy didn't help matters much. (I think there was a song written about that.... )

That said, I'm not going to kick someone when they're down for reasons not of their control.
