WKOX 1430 Everett/Boston

It appears someone forgot to plug in the antenna.......I can listen on line but not over the air, what's up with that? Anyone hear anything?

Short drive tonight , Beverly and Salem...found WKOX really tough to get. A sports talker in NY state was beating them out. I opted for a bit of WBIX 1260 instead (Larry Elder).

Eek....low power during the winter!

I have to admit, before WKOX developed the antenna problem, they put out a decent signal for 5-KW directional, at least during the day. I had rather good reception up here in the Merrimack Valley, particularly near I-93, Rte. 28, and near railroad tracks. I hope if/when iHeart moves Rush back to AM 1200, the reception is as good. You would think so, given the 10-fold increase in output power, but antenna pattern plays an equally large role.

For now, I listen to Rush on AM 1430 via iHeartRadio's streaming app.

WKOX was/is not directional during the day. It only went directional at sunset with the nighttime power reduction to 1 kW.

Thanks, Eli. I should've checked Radio Locator first.

Still, AM 1430's day signal - not their "critical hours" signal, if any - is comparable to WBZ's when the latter runs 10 KW from 1170 Soldiers Field Rd.
