103.3 / Fresno

I've noticed the low power FM 103.3 has had a dead carrier on the air for the last few weeks. The station is on the Security Bank Building in downtown Fresno and runs with 13 watts. Rumor is the manager Patrick O. has been in the hospital and didn't pay the rent, and they have been locked out. In other news, The Downtown Association had applied for 103.3 FM also, and the FCC had granted them a construction permit to share time on 103.3, but they didn't get their construction done before the permit ran out on December 12th, and they lost their permit/license.

How can anyone survive and make enough money to pay basic bills with these LPFM's

I was wondering that too like power, music royalties, and rent for LPFM stations that are considered "Non Commercial".

This LP station is completely gone, no dead air signal, all I get driving in Downtown Fresno is KZPO 103.3 Lindsay.
