Sinclair renews with ABC until 2022

Or maybe onto KPLR (putting ABC back onto a virtual VHF channel number in STL for the first time since 1995, albeit now on 11).

Actually, Tribune is being acquired by Sinclair and possibly, that won't be the case, so I think that either ABC might go back to either KMOV or KSDK, while either CBS or NBC moves to KDNL.

Note the stations affected by this deal are KATV Little Rock and WJLA Washington D.C..

For Little Rock, my guess is that KARZ-TV and KATV could swap affiliations, meaning that ABC could go to KARZ, while KATV takes the MyNetworkTV affiliation.

And for Washington, D.C., my guess is that WJLA and WUSA could swap affiliations, meaning that ABC could go to WUSA, while WJLA re-joins the CBS network.

Sinclair renews ABC until 2022...but there's that rumor flying around that Fox will buy KOMO. I still think Fox will just buy KCPQ (Seahawks, obviously) once the Tribune-Sinclair thing is finalized. Sinclair likely will stay with KOMO/KUNS.

If that was the case in Seattle, then I think ABC might re-unite with former affiliate KING-TV ch. 5, while NBC might re-unite with it's former affiliate KOMO ch. 4, resulting in a reversal of the 1959 affiliation switch.

Besides Washington DC, Little Rock, New Orleans and Seattle,

here's what I think might happen in other markets,

In the Iowa Quad-Cities, I think ABC might re-unite with former secondary affiliate KWQC-TV ch. 6, while NBC might go over to WQAD-TV ch. 8

In Birmingham, I think ABC might re-unite with former affiliate WBRC ch. 6, while Fox might go over to WBMA-LD 58 (WABM-DT2 68.2, WDBB-DT2 17.2 and WGWW-DT2 40.2)

In Mobile & Pensacola, I think ABC might go to WKRG-TV ch. 5, while CBS might re-unite with it's former affiliate WEAR-TV ch. 3

In Chico/Redding & Eureka, I think ABC might go to KNVN ch. 24 in Chico/Redding, and KIEM-TV ch. 3 in Eureka, while NBC might re-unite with KRCR-TV ch. 7 and it's semi-satellite KAEF-TV ch. 23

In Macon, I think ABC might re-unite with former affiliate WPGA ch. 58, while WGXA's second digital subchannel becomes an Independent.

In Springfield & Champaign, I think ABC might re-unite with former affiliate WAND ch. 17, while NBC might re-unite with it's former affiliates WICD ch. 15 and WICS ch. 20, resulting in a reversal of the 2005 affiliation switch.

In Cadillac and Traverse City, I think ABC might re-unite with former secondary affiliates WWTV ch. 9 and WWUP-TV ch. 10 while CBS might go to WGTU ch. 29 and WGTQ ch. 8

In Quincy, I think ABC might re-unite with former secondary affiliate WGEM-TV ch. 10, while NBC might go to KHQA's second digital subchannel, KHQA-DT2 ch. 7.2

In St. Louis, I think ABC might re-unite with former secondary affiliate KSDK ch. 5, while NBC might go KDNL-TV ch. 30.

In Rochester, I think ABC might re-unite with former affiliate WHEC-TV ch. 10, while NBC might go to WHAM-TV ch. 13

In Greenville/Spartanburg/Asheville, I think ABC might go to WHNS ch. 21, while Fox might go to WLOS ch. 13

In the North Carolina Piedmont Triad, I think ABC might re-unite with former affiliate WGHP ch. 8, while Fox might re-unite with it's former affiliate WXLV ch. 45.

In Dayton, ABC might re-unite with former affiliate WDTN ch. 2, while NBC might re-unite with it's former affiliate WKEF ch. 22

In Johnstown/Altoona, ABC might re-unite with former secondary affiliate WJAC ch. 6, while NBC might go to WATM-TV ch. 23.

In Charleston SC, ABC might re-unite with former affiliate WCBD ch. 2, while NBC might re-unite with WCIV's second digital subchannel WCIV-DT2 ch 36.2, resulting in a reversal of the 1996 affiliation switch.

In Myrtle Beach/Florence, ABC might re-unite with former secondary affiliate WBTW ch. 13, while CBS might go to WPDE ch. 15.

In Chattanooga, ABC might re-unite with former secondary affiliate WDEF-TV ch. 12, while CBS might go to WTVC ch. 9

In Amarillo, ABC might re-unite with former affiliate KFDA-TV ch. 10, while CBS might go to KVII-TV ch. 7

In Lynchburg/Roanoke, ABC might go to WDBJ ch. 7, while CBS re-unites with it's former affiliate WSET ch. 13

In Charleston/Huntington, ABC might re-unite with it's former affiliate WOWK-TV ch. 13, while CBS might re-unite with it's former affiliate WCHS-TV ch. 8, resulting in a reversal of the 1986 affiliation switch.

In Quincy, I think ABC might re-unite with former secondary affiliate WGEM-TV ch. 10, while NBC might go to KHQA's second digital subchannel, KHQA-DT2 ch. 7.2
since WGEM has been NBC since Day 1 I doubt they would want to lose that affiliation.

FOX wanted KCPQ and even tried to buy it a few times and failed. FOX likes to have O&O in the NFC markets. A few years ago they were going to buy KBCB Bellingham and strip the FOX affiliation from KCPQ but backed down

Fox has now succeeded with buying KCPQ finally and it finally became a Fox O&O station.

No point in bumping a nearly 3 year old thread to tell us something that happened 8 months ago

AND was OFF TOPIC as it had NOTHING WHATSOVER to do with Sinclair NOR ABC

But to get BACK ON topic

One has to wonder just HOW LONG ABC will stay with KDNL in St. Louis before it FINALLY makes the jump to KPLR 11 (Afterall, The CW could live WELL on KDNL)
