Tom Petty dead at 66

"Heartbreakers"? Karma.....

And let's stop calling this an "accidental" drug overdose. If Petty left a suicide note then we know he meant to die otherwise nobody knows. But the bottom line is those who do street drugs have the same death wish as those who play Russian roulette. The thrill of the moment can end life forever.

I enjoyed Tom's music and I am sorry he's gone but he also was a dumbass and that is his legacy.

Succumbing to an overdose doesn't make him a "dumbass", it makes him like many who have addictive tendencies. The drug he took is rarely prescribed except for cancer patients, which he was not. If he was searching for another way to deal with his pain, and got addicted, then yes, he made a mistake. Just like millions of others in the US, making this opioid problem a major health concern.

However, I do not believe this is the appropriate forum to debate this. Petty was a true legend of rock music. RIP.
