Washington D.C Truck/Train Crash coverage

It will be off the news as quickly as it was on the news.

your right, even terrorist attacks don't get the 2 to 3 days of coverage it used to due to Trump. i think we are living in a era where anything the President does gets more coverage non-stop then anything else. and after the S***hole comment, i'm hate to say it, but sooner or later CNN is gonna have a "breaking News" alert where the headline is "President Trump takes a crap in the White House bathroom". that's how obsessed our news media is with him now, and i didn't even vote for him or support his political views.

Interesting comparison to this recent train accident and one late last year in the Tacoma, WA area. Of course, the coverage of anything involving members of congress will get heavy airplay. Though the Tacoma accident affected many more in terms of deaths and injuries. But they are "just people". Another example of east coast media bias. If it happens in the NY/WA corridor it is much more important than anything out in the hinterlands. Nothing new here.

Even Mass Shootings don't get 2 to 3 days of coverage on the national level due to Trump/Putin. However if you are a local news director where the mass shootings happen you might run that story for 1 week until the accused of school mass shooting incident goes to trial. But then again the priorities of News Directors on the national level are different than on the local level.

Having lived my whole life just in or just off of the NY/DC corridor, and still having connections in the Philadelphia market where I grew up, the magnified coverage resonates with me more positively obviously. But even I would like to see tragedies in America's other regions receive more and better coverage.
