Interesting talent steal from WNED/WBFO.
Steal? What "steal" ?
Mr. Zach's reluctance to elaborate leaves a wide berth for justifiable speculation. The brevity of his explanation and "management knows why" comment would indicate that there were significant issues. It could be that he didn't get the support he felt he deserved. Perhaps working for a Program Director who was less experienced than any other Program or News Director Zack has worked for in the span of his noteworthy career may have left him wanting. These are, after all, "legacies" who have worked with and for some very talented people.

Hey all - WECK is a music station. An adult standards music station, serving a 55 plus audience. I believe it is important to have local and national news as a utility....a compliment. No one is going to come to WECK for news. I realize that. But news should be part of the station. Steve's new role will be very exciting. not only news, but Buffalo story-teller, morning show co-host with Tom and Gail. Understanding the role of the station in the community is important, and our role is to serve a senior audience, primary with music, local and world news, and timeless local personalities. I am proud of what we are building.
Buddy: Trust me, I get what you're doing and appreciate it...and this comes from a listener of the station(even BEFORE it became what it is now). I get that most people tune in for the music first, not the news. But if you're going to make a ballyhoo over getting the local rights to CBS News, shouldn't there be....oh, I don't know...CBS News at the top of the hour? It hasn't been there of late.
According to their contract engineer the 100.5 translator went live Sunday and reception reports came in as far north as Lockport.
