WNYC to get gothamist

One of the objectives of this acquisition is to draw younger listeners to public radio.

Or rather public MEDIA.

One of the issues in public broadcasting is how to attract younger listeners. The problem is the content is very stodgy. The WNYC brand is associated with that stodgy sound. So maybe a different presentation on a different brand will work.

The question is: Will young people pay a subscription fee for online news?
