KNUC has a new morning show

This just appeared on All Access:

'Tim Leary and the Morning Showgram'

HUBBARD Country KNUC (COUNTRY 98.9)/SEATTLE has tapped "TIM LEARY AND THE MORNING SHOWGRAM," including LEARY and co-hosts CLAIRE BEVERLY and KAREN "RED" DAISS, to host mornings for the recently-launched station (NET NEWS 12/5/17). The trio, which has been on-air together for three years at ALPHA MEDIA Country WUBB (BOB 106.9)/SAVANNAH-HILTON HEAD, is in the process of relocating to SEATTLE and will announce an on-air date soon. LEARY has been with WUBB since 2011 (NET NTEWS 8/25/11).

"I fell in love with TIM, CLAIRE, and RED in the first few minutes of meeting them," said HUBBARD/SEATTLE Market Manager MARC KAYE. "I know the SEATTLE radio audience will find them entertaining and refreshing; we are in for one heck of a run." Added LEARY, "This is really so overwhelming and unbelievable, we're still trying to take this all in. To GINNY MORRIS, DREW HOROWITZ, DAVE BESTLER, GREG STRASSELL, MARC KAYE, LISA ADAMS, and STEVE REYNOLDS, we can't thank you enough for your support and believing in us! To our agent, JIM ROBINSON, you're the best in the industry. And, I wouldn't have the show any other way than with the most talented co-hosts anywhere: CLAIRE and RED. To my wife, KAREN, I promise not to break any more of your grandmother's china when we unpack it in SEATTLE. We can't wait! This is going to be a blast."

Wow! The morning show from the Number 9 rated station (12+) in the 146th market in the country is getting a gig in Seattle! Talk about a big step. Good luck guys. Reminds of the Rob, Arnie and Dawn experiment on KISW a few years back.

They're certainly welcome here! My read, like many of you, is "no one in other markets would take the gig for what we're willing to pay". Hopefully they will be entertaining, though.

Not just the pay, but also for the lack of job security. I echo KXA's advice especially how inflated the Seattle housing market is these days.

I know of more than one person working at Hubbard who was the lowest cost candidate for the job. Best of luck anyway and welcome to Seattle!

Well, KNUC I think would spell out "New Country". Good call letters I think.

Seriously, they should have stuck with KVRQ. Just get someone with a Southern accent (preferably any woman named "Lurleen") to voice the top hour. But whatever.

"I know the SEATTLE radio audience will find them entertaining and refreshing; we are in for one heck of a run." - That's the same thing that was said of - ALL the other bodies that have piled up from the failed experiments at 98.9 - Hey ask Brian, Jackie and Moot how well it worked out for them... The track record for success has been honestly a shit show. It's obvious these noobs from small market USA don't know the history and what they are getting into. Even FITZ knows this rodeo aint worth a ride.

Actually Fitz tried to get on there and Hubbard wasn't interested.

The station's logo is HIDEOUS.

How can anyone take the programming seriously? It gives an awful first impression.
