I find it odd that the Lowell newspaper included 10 and 12 (but not 6) from Providence, considering Lowell is north of Boston

I find it odd that the Lowell newspaper included 10 and 12 (but not 6) from Providence, considering Lowell is north of Boston

WLNE from Providence before 2009i had was forced to transmit from Tiverton, RI, because of co-channel seperation needed from WRGB-TV in Schnectady, NY and WCSH-TV Portland, ME, (both on channel 6) and adjacent channnel seperatin with WCVB-TV, on channel 5. Tiverton was about 17 miles south of Rehoboth, MA where channels 10, 12, and 64 transmit. WLNE's signal could not usually penetrated to Lowell, but WJAR (10) and WPRI (12) could, even though the signal was very snowy. Of course with the digital transtion, and WLNE's transmitter now in Rehoboth, the signal is pretty much on par with the other stations, and there is no co-channel or adjacent channel interference now.

Thanks for the info. I like reading about the past history of broadcast stations.
