Possible new home for "Roseanne"?

I'm pretty sure ABC owns the "Roseanne" name, so any new home would have to come with the blessing of the Mickey Mouse company. Seems unlikely.

She, like so many others who have done stupid, needs to sit out for a little bit and then make her triumphant return. Honestly, I feel sorry for those who were earning some cash from the revival only to have it go poof.

no network will touch this with a 100 yard pole. i feel sorry for everyone involved with the show that isn't Roseanne as they were collateral damage for Roseanne's racist and political tweets. meanwhile Roseanne's owes everyone who worked on the show a apology for getting the show cancelled and taking away their paycheck.

ABC was evidently serious and swift about this. In place of tonight's scheduled re-run of "Roseanne" earlier this hour, the network fed an episode of "Modern Family".

If only Fox News aired scripted shows?

Intrestingly, the Fox news comments on Roseanne Barr's tweets were harsher than even those on MSNBC. Nothing worse to them than a conservative that fell off the wagon.

The Laff network has also pulled their reruns of the original Roseanne, and replaced them with Night Court.

No one should be surprised except possibly at her astounding lack of intelligence. She has never changed.

I have a feeling that Roseanne will get bailed out of the backlash and GCN will somehow get her to sign a contract for a talk radio/podcast show where Roseanne goes all out Alex Jones and yes Dolla-a-holla stations will promote her as an Alex Jones ally.

But the rest of the cast will end up being judged for stuff that Roseanne has tweeted out though.

The rest of the cast has had far more distinguished careers than just being co-stars on Roseanne. They have nothing to worry about.

Roseanne Barr, however, IS her show, apart from her standup comedy act in the '80s before she became a star. She is also known to have mental issues (which she's admitted in the past), which I hope she finally gets treatment for, now that she's shot her fat mouth off once too many.

Maybe My Network TV could start a new comedy night and include "Roseanne"...

Are you joking? Like it or not, Roseanne is poison now. Not in the Cosby class because, needless to say, she didn't rape anybody. So she can likely rehabilitate her reputation over time. But for now, she is done, and nobody is going to touch her, not even Fox associated networks.

It is interesting to compare this to the Michelle Wolf controversy about Sarah Huckabee Sanders, which Fox News was all over because they felt Wolf was being "cruel" for joking about Sanders' appearance. But Wolf didn't have a show on one of the major networks like Roseanne, and let's be honest - Sanders isn't an ethnic minority. That having been said, it's interesting that Wolf has heeded the criticism, and has turned it back into humor at Sanders' expense - trashing her for hypocrisy, but adding the tagline, "... "and for the record, that was not a looks-based joke, that was about her ugly personality.”

It’s not just any joke about an ethnic minority. Grown adults in this country, and certainly someone of Roseanne’s age qualifies, know darn well the despicable history of whites using that type of description for African Americans. This was not just a bad joke or one that missed the mark, it was reprehensible and insidious racism dredging up stereotypes that have no place in a civilized society.

Viacom pulled Roseanne reruns from its networks today. Full House is on CMT instead of Roseanne as we speak. The new lineup that went into effect a couple weeks ago was Roseanne 10-1, Full House 1-3, Reba 3-5, and Last Man Standing 5PM-???? Will find out later what Paramount Network replaces Roseanne with. With their schedule change a couple weeks ago it was 2 1/2 Men 10-1, Roseanne 1-4, Mom 4-7, and Friends 7PM-???? Wonder what TVLAND has in store. In addition to 2 or 3 episodes a night they run the show all day 4AM-4PM on Saturdays.

My DIRECTV program guide just updated.

CMT:
10AM-12:30PM Full House
12:30PM-5PM Reba

Paramount Network:

10AM-1PM Bar Rescue (is that today only?)
1PM-4PM 2 1/2 Men

TVLAND
3:49AM-5:27AM Old Christine (Time Approximate due to TVLAND being off the clock on the overnights)

Saturday's schedule is not updated at this time.

I thought surely Fox would take her. Look at all the offensive things Seth McFarlane has done. True, he was playing his animated Fox characters, but they are far worse than Roseanne.
