Probably not a bad career move. I'd quit if I had to listen to Schopp & The Bulldog for hours every day.
 
Good promotional maneuver. Dude probably got a better paying full time gig with benefits at Geico and the station turned his leaving into a stunt. Creative... and it gets pub for a few days.
