Guess whose simulcasting the Boston Pops spectacular

It turns out this year the famous Boston Pops spectacular will be on ... Easy 99.1! Do you know if any other radio and/or TV stations are airing it?

Good for 99.1
From the Boston Pops July 4th website.
Bloomberg Radio
Radio listeners in the greater Boston area can hear the concert through Bloomberg’s flagship stations in Boston and Newburyport on 106.1 FM / 1330 AM / 1450 AM/ 92.9-HD2, and via expanded coverage this year on 99.1 WPLM-FM (Plymouth, MA) covering Boston’s South Shore, Southeastern Massachusetts, Cape Cod and portions of Rhode Island. Nationally the concert can be found on SiriusXM channel 119, online at bloombergradio.com, and via mobile on the Bloomberg and iheartradio apps.

Do you know what it’s has replaced by?

I drove through the area south of Boston (Taunton, Raynham, Easton, Brockton, Avon, etc..) a couple of nights ago, and checked 1390 and only heard a jumble of a few weak distant skywaves. I thought I may have been on the wrong side of WPLM’s directional pattern, but it may have been completely off the air.

WPLM filed for silent STA on June 8. That apparently triggered Radio-Locator to remove the station from its listings...but that's just Radio-Locator. For now, WPLM is still licensed and could be turned back on by its licensee at any time.

Here's what they told the FCC:

AS THE COMMISSION IS AWARE, FOR SOME TIME STATION WPLM HAS BEEN OPERATING WITH ITS DIRECTIONAL PARAMETERS AT VARIANCE AND WITH REDUCED POWER TO STAY WITHIN LICENSED MONITOR POINT LIMITS. SEE BESTA-20171114AAP. AS THE LICENSEE HAS BEEN WORKING TO REPAIR THE SYSTEM AND BRING THE STATION WITHIN ITS AUTHORIZED LIMITS, MORE AND MORE REPAIRS HAVE BEEN DETERMINED TO BE NEEDED TO FULLY RESTORE THE SYSTEM. THE LICENSEE HAS DETERMINED THAT A FULL REVIEW OF THE STATION'S TRANSMISSION FACILITIES IS THEREFORE NECESSARY BY AN OUTSIDE ENGINEERING CONSULTANT. CONSEQUENTLY, PENDING THE REVIEW AND THE EVALUATION OF WHAT FURTHER WORK IS NEEDED AT THE STATION, THE LICENSEE HAS DECIDED TO TURN THE STATION OFF AS OF THIS DATE IN ORDER TO AVOID POSSIBLE FURTHER UNNECESSARY REPAIRS AND EXPENSES. THUS, THE LICENSEE HEREBY NOTIFIES THE COMMISSION OF THE STATION'S SILENT STATUS AND REQUESTS AUTHORIZATION TO REMAIN SILENT UNTIL A FURTHER DETERMINATION ON THE STATUS OF REPAIRS IS COMPLETED. DURING THIS SILENCE STATUS, THE LICENSEE IS AWARE OF ITS RESPONSIBILITY TO USE WHATEVER MEANS ARE NECESSARY TO PROTECT WORKERS AND THE PUBLIC FROM EXPOSURE TO RADIO FREQUENCY RADIATION IN EXCESS OF THE COMMISSION'S EXPOSURE GUIDELINES.

The reality is, that for a 2 station cluster ( WPLM AM and FM) the expense to fix or replace the AM transmitters and/or make major repairs to the towers may be more than the Campbell family is willing to spend.

Now that Barry Armstrong is no longer LMA'ing it, I doubt it makes enough money to pay for electricity that huge ancient transmitter consumes.

It's funny, but the Pops 4th of July website doesn't mention Verizon at all.
Must be a Bloomberg vs Verizon issue I am not aware of.
